Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 Blackmagic

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is the ideal solution when cameras need to be placed in places where space is limited. It includes a Micro Four Thirds mount and a 4K sensor for low-light shooting with cinematic colorimetry. Although its size is compact, it offers all the features of a larger studio camera. It also has 12G-SDI connections for HD and UHD signals with a maximum resolution of 2160p60. SDI and HDMI ports allow you to perform color corrections and control the lens, and you can also record Blackmagic RAW files to USB disks. And with a logarithmic tonal response curve, the Micro Studio Camera 4K version Blackmagic delivers much more than optimal quality, making it easy to create cinematic aesthetics directly from the camera.

Designed for live productions

The compact design of the Micro Studio Camera makes the camera inconspicuous, allowing it to be placed anywhere on set. This allows you to shoot from an unprecedented number of angles, in order to create a more interesting program. Due to its professional connections, this version is ideal for all kinds of jobs, for example, talk shows, newsletters, sports, educational materials, conferences, presentations, and even weddings. It's now easier to hide many cameras on stage, in order to make the most incredible shorts. Although these models have been designed for live productions, they can also be used with editing programs, because they allow you to record Blackmagic RAW files to USB disks, for the purpose of editing and grading the images later.

Revolutionary design

Major broadcasters use expensive studio cameras that are large and difficult to move. The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera offers all the benefits of larger units in a compact design that allows you to place it virtually anywhere. It features a frame made from a super-strong magnesium alloy that barely exceeds the dimensions of the frame. It also offers the ability to use inexpensive, high-performance Micro Four Thirds lenses, or add adapters to incorporate professional lenses. This camera is designed for live production, so SDI and HDMI connections use the same control protocol as ATEM switchers. In addition, buttons on the front of the unit allow quick access to the various menus, as well as automatic recording starts.

Professional Connections

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K is compatible with a wide variety of professional equipment. 12G-SDI connections allow images and return signal to be transmitted, as well as the pilot light to be activated, making it easy to prepare the unit before a job. In turn, the HDMI connector provides the ability to connect a monitor, such as the Blackmagic Video Assist model, to change settings using the menus overlaid on the image or to check the position of a remote camera. The USB-C expansion port offers the opportunity to record to external drives and control the drive via optional accessories or REST interfaces over a network when installing an Ethernet adapter. In addition, a 3.5mm microphone connection is included.

Two Connection Modes

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera can be connected in a variety of ways. The HDMI connection allows you to use HDMI switchers (e.g. ATEM Mini), transmit the images, activate the pilot light, control the cameras, and start recording automatically via a single cable. In turn, 12G-SDI technology makes it possible to connect switchers such as the ATEM Constellation model and send a return signal to the camera for control or communication, for example.

1. HDMI Connectivity

The HDMI output allows you to connect switchers such as the ATEM Mini model, activate the pilot light, adjust the color of the images, and start recording automatically from the switcher.

2. SDI Connectivity

Two-way communication between the camera and the switcher via the main SDI output and the SDI input for the return signal, which also allows the unit to be controlled.

USB-C port for external drives and control via Ethernet networks

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K features a high-speed USB-C expansion port that allows you to control the camera over a network or connect a wide variety of accessories and external drives to record high-quality 12 Blackmagic -bit RAW files and edit and color grade images later. In turn, these discs can be connected to computer equipment to process the material without the need to copy it beforehand. By attaching an Ethernet adapter to the USB-C port, the camera can be controlled over a network, via REST interfaces, and focus and focal length control systems can even be added, just like larger studio cameras.
