The AF 50mm F1.4 FE II is the smallest (88.9mm/3.5 inches) and lightest (420g/14.8oz) among all standard 50mm wide-aperture focal length lenses compatible with the SONY-E mount.

• Excellent resolution in all areas of the image.

The AF 50mm F1.4 FE II (standard large aperture) lens offers a viewing angle of 45.7° for full frame and 31.1° for APS-C, and a maximum bright aperture of F1.4. In particular, optimal resolution is achieved by the optical design of 11 elements in 8 groups (2 ASP, 3 HR and 1 ED). Combined with SONY's full-frame image sensor, this lens delivers superior sharpness and contrast in all areas of the image.

• Fast and quiet AF performance

This new lens is capable of tracking subjects with precision and speed, and the AF motor also works quietly and smoothly when shooting videos. Samyang 's linear STM (stepper motor) satisfies photographers and videographers alike with quieter, more precise control of larger, heavier focus lens clusters.

• Impressive background blur and bokeh, with a brilliant F1.4 aperture

The AF 50mm F1.4 FE II uses a large diameter aperture to provide smooth background blur. It effectively separates the subject from the background, using a shallow depth of field to capture a unique image in which the background is compressed. The 9 diaphragm leaves create a soft and natural bokeh for obtaining spectacular portraits.

• Less breathing to record videos

The AF 50mm F1.4 FE II minimizes your breathing during video recording, so there are fewer changes in the angle of view when focusing, suppressing unwanted movements on the screen. This is effective when shooting videos with the subject moving forward or backward, or in situations where the focus is shifted forward or backward.

• Improved ease of use with custom switch

There is a custom switch that the user can set to allow an adjustment of the aperture by turning the focus ring. With the optional Lens Station, you can set the mode according to your preferences*.

The ease of use of the AF 50mm F1.4 FE II lens has been developed and improved, taking into account not only the design, but also the user's shooting environment. It has a rubber focus ring with micro stamping, making it nice to focus, and the sealing against adverse weather conditions also protects the lens from light rain, snow and dust.
