Optimized for remarkable image clarity at close working distances, the SONY SIGMA E-mount 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art Lens is a true 1:1 life-size macro lens, well suited for close-up and macro subjects. As a member of the esteemed Art lens series, this first telephoto short is also distinguished by its sophisticated optical design that uses two FLD elements, two SLD elements, an anomalous partial dispersion/high refractive index element, and two aspherical elements to limit chromatic and spherical aberrations for greater clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy. A Super Multi-Layer also improves image quality by suppressing lens flare and ghosting to improve contrast and color fidelity in bright light conditions. In addition, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Benefiting imaging assets is a coreless DC motor that delivers fast and accurate autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. The physical design uses thermally stable composite material for durability in a wide range of environments, and a brass bayonet mount also offers rigidity and mounting precision.

• Short telephoto focus, this lens is designed for Full-frame SONY rimless frameless cameras, however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an equivalent focal length of 105mm.

• Two Low Dispersion F (FLD) elements, two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, and one anomalous partial dispersion/high refractive index element are featured in the optical design and help reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for greater color clarity and accuracy.

• Two aspherical elements are used to help limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering.

• The true macro design offers a maximum magnification from 1:1 size to life-size along with a minimum focusing distance of 10.2" to suit working with close-up subjects.

• A super multi-layer layer has been applied to the lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting, and helps produce images with contrast and neutral color, even in backlit conditions.
