The Sirui 75mm t2.9 Lens offers a high-sharp, anamorphic design with a narrow field of view that is very interesting for portraits. Sirui 75mm 1.6x cinema has been built for use for both full-frame cinema and hybrid mirrorless cameras with CANON RF, LEICA L, SONY E or NIKON Z mount. We have to highlight the 1.6x compression factor visible in the anamorphic capture improvement compared to the company's previous versions as well as its all-metal construction with a 1/4" hole at the bottom it provides additional support to the lens.

The Sirui LEICA L mount 75mm T2.9 Anamorphic 1.6x lens fills the cinema screen with intense detail, cinematic bokeh and artistic touches. This full-frame lens produces an oval bokeh effect and horizontal blue stripes, giving your footage a dreamy or sci-fi aesthetic. An image captured in 16:9 format is reduced to an anamorphic aspect ratio of 2.8:1, while if captured in 3:2 format, a final image of 2.4:1 is obtained.
Its T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, blurring everything in front of or behind the specifically chosen focal plane. This 75mm features a 1/4"-20 female thread for a lens mount, and its focus and aperture rings are geared evenly like its 50mm companion for use with focus tracking and lens control systems.
Full-frame coverage
This 75mm lens offers coverage for full-frame cameras with a wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio in 16:9 format and a 2.4:1 aspect ratio when capturing images in 3:2 format. Use it to create sharp panoramic images with exceptionally sharp subjects and soft, natural backgrounds.
Anamorphic field of view
The anamorphic design with a compression factor of 1.6x creates a horizontal angle of view equivalent to 46mm in a spherical lens, making it suitable for general use. Taking pictures with this lens creates a compressed look where objects in the distance appear to be magnified, making it useful for both close-ups and more distant shots.
Anamorphic effects
Ten aperture blades create creamy oval bokeh, while coated optical glass elements help create the horizontal blue stripe effects typical of anamorphic lenses.
High-quality construction
This rugged 75mm Sirui Prime features a durable all-metal housing, an 82mm front filter thread, and a 1/4"-20 thread compatible with many lens mounts.

SIRUI has announced its new 75mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens. The 75mm T2.9 will join the 50mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic that was released last year.
The 75mm T2.9 1.6x and its narrower field of view maintain the same anamorphic look as the 50mm, but allow users to capture subjects at greater distances. Arguably, a 75mm anamorphic is a better choice for photographing people's faces than a 50mm one. The 75mm T2.9 1.6x behaves like a 46mm horizontally while retaining the vertical FOV of a 75mm lens. When shooting 3:2, this lens offers a 2.4:1 aspect ratio. When you use the lens of a sensor with a 16:9 aspect ratio, you get a significantly wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio.
Like the 50mm, the 75mm T2.9 1.6x lens is designed for use with cinema and hybrid mirrorless cameras that feature an RF, LEICA L, SONY E or CANON NIKON Z mount. The 50mm and 75mm are not available in PL mount, which is a shame. This lens would work well not only on cameras that have dedicated anamorphic shooting modes, but also on cameras like the CANON EOS R5C, PANASONIC Lumix S5, SONY A7S III, and NIKON Z9.
Arguably, the 1.6x compression factor doesn't provide the same kind of look as a 1.8x or 2x anamorphic, but it should provide a more anamorphic look than Sirui's previous 1.33x APS-C range. I'm not the biggest fan of overly pronounced blue stripes, but some people like them.
Not all monitors or cameras feature a 1.6x compression reduction capability, and this is something you should certainly keep in mind if you plan to use these lenses.
The 75mm features an all-metal body and lens mount and an 82mm front filter thread. A 1/4"-20 threaded hole at the bottom provides additional lens support when mounted on a camera rig. Both the 50mm and 75mm share a standardized positioning of the focus rings and iris.
Inexpensive anamorphic lenses like these from SIRUI are a good choice if you're looking to get into anamorphic shooting. Its relatively low entry price brings the anamorphic shot to a much wider audience.
