Ideal for use on the ceiling or to raise the ambient lighting level, the 26" diameter Aputure Lantern Softbox has the same omnidirectional light quality as the "China Balls" of yesteryear, but is built with durable materials and accessories like a skirt configured to control 270-degree beam scattering. The flashlight has a BOWENS mount that fits Aputure lights, such as the 120d or 300d series, but it is also compatible with many other lights that use this popular mount.

The flashlight can Aputure open and be ready to use in a matter of seconds. As filmmakers, you must move fast, and your lighting should not get in your way. With the flashlight you can produce soft light and even wherever your shoots take you.

Even omnidirectional light

It illuminates the entire room. Using a 26" spherical design, the flashlight diffuses the light from your LED or studio strobe light in all directions with a beam angle of 270°. Now you can fill an entire space with soft, even light with a single light source.

The Art of Control

To create kinematic depth, you need to be able to control your light, so Aputure wanted to take the design of the spherical lantern a step further. The flashlight ships with a fully adjustable 4-section light control skirt. By using a hook and loop design, removable skirts can be joined in any position, to quickly and accurately control their soft light. You can roll the skirt up or down to mark unwanted light.

With its voltage-based quick-release design, the flashlight can be set up or broken down in just a few seconds, allowing you to set up fewer lights, faster. Combining that with its durable, portable design makes the flashlight the ideal soft light modifier for running and shooting.
