A notable first for an all-in-one zoom lens: the 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 achieves a fast F2.8 aperture at the 28mm wide-angle end. In addition, the maximum apertures in the intermediate zoom ranges are F3.5 at 50mm, F5 at 100mm, and F5.6 from 150mm to 200mm. As an unprecedented all-in-one zoom that combines a fast aperture with a compact size, the 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 offers greater versatility and utility never before available.

The TAMRON series of full-frame mirrorless camera lenses, starting with the 28-75mm F2.8 (Model A036), has been developed in order to balance high performance with comfort. In addition to the standard 67mm filter diameter as standard, and taking advantage of the camera's built-in image stabilization, engineers focused on achieving compact size and light weight. At the 28mm wide-angle end, the MOD (minimum focusing distance) is 0.19m (7.5 inches), achieving a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1. This performance, combined with the fast F2.8 aperture, allows users to zoom in so that the subject appears in the foreground while also displaying beautiful bokeh in the background. This close-up shot is also noticeable at the telephoto end, with a MOD of 0.8m (31.5 inches) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8. Users can capture stunning images with exceptional bokeh and create exceptional compositions.

The AF unit incorporates a sensor that accurately detects the position of the lens, while the RXD motor unit offers optimised AF control. This extremely quiet approach is a major advantage because it eliminates all AF sounds during video recording.
