With its normal perspective, fast maximum aperture, and high-end design, SONY 's Planar T*FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA lens is easy to see as a standard optic for full-frame E-mount photographers. Starting with the fast maximum aperture of f/1.4, photographers and videographers will enjoy exceptional low-light performance along with the ability to create shallow-depth effects. The optical design ZEISS Planar benefits users by providing an almost distortion-free image, while the incorporation of an advanced aspherical element, an aspherical element, and an extra-low dispersion element work to minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations. On top of that, the legendary anti-glare coating ZEISS T* fights flare and ghosting for crisp, clear images.

Performance is also top-notch with the fast autofocus provided by a ring-driven Super Sonic Wave Motor (SSM) system. An AF/MF switch is provided to quickly switch between modes and an internal focus design maintains the overall length of the lens during use. A physical aperture ring is present on the lens that can be removed at the flick of a switch, making it a great choice for video in addition to still images. An eleven-blade circular diaphragm further enhances image quality by ensuring smooth bokeh in a wide range of aperture settings. Plus, a dust- and moisture-resistant construction will keep you working even in less-than-ideal environments.

• A normal-length cousin designed for full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras, this 50mm f/1.4 is also compatible with APS-C models where it will provide a focal length equivalent to 75mm.
