    Giving the speed that SONY 's mirrorless shooters have been waiting for, the Alpha a9 Mirrorless digital camera has impressive multimedia capabilities and increases processing capabilities for ultra-fast continuous shooting. Using a 24.2MP full-frame Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X image processor, the a9 is capable of shooting up to 20fps, recording 4K UHD video internally, and shooting with a sensitivity range extended to ISO 204,800. Balancing processor speed is a 693-point phase detection autofocus system that covers 93% of the image area for accurate and fast tracking of the subject in a variety of lighting conditions. In addition, complementing the image and focus resources, the a9 also features 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake when shooting with the handheld.
    The combination of its professional imaging capabilities is a well-rounded physical construction that is completely sealed for use in harsh environmental conditions. For clear and uncompromising vision, a Tru-Finder quadruple VGA OLED is presented with an impressive resolution of 3,686 m dots and 120 fps refresh rate for clear, bright and smooth vision at eye level.     A super telephoto zoom that meets the intense construction requirements of SONY's acclaimed G Master Series lens range, the new FE 100-400mm GM model produces exceptional corner-to-corner sharpness through the lens' zoom and focus ranges and beautiful background blur, Ensuring the best details are carried out in every theme and scene.

    The complex design features 22 lens elements configured in 16 different groups, including a Super ED (Extra Low Dispersion) and two ED glass elements, all of which are working together to minimize chromatic aberration and ensure maximum resolution. The lens also has SONY's original Nano AR coating, which is particularly useful for photographing sports scenes or for wildlife as it reduces unwanted reflections.

    In order to keep up with fast-moving action, the new 100-400mm GM super telephoto zoom lens offers the combination of a dual linear motor and a Direct Drive SSM actuator, which also ensures precise and quiet operation.

    The dual-motor system allows for rapid acceleration of the focus unit to capture the sudden movement that is common with sports and wildlife photography, while high-precision positioning control and a newly optimized AF algorithm ensure the subject is quickly found and focused on. This ensures that the maximum AF performance of a camera like the new α9 is achieved.

    In order to meet the demanding demands of customers who want lighter, smaller and portable super telephoto lenses, the new FE 100-400 mm GM weighs in at a mere 1,395 grams (49.3 ounces), making it the lightest in its class and ideally suitable for the wide range of compact cameras in SONY.

    Functionally, the lens has a zoom torque adjustment ring – a first for SONY α – that allows the user to adjust the torque level in the ring for the faster or slower zoom depending on their shooting style. There's also a focus hold button that can also be assigned to a variety of functions, such as focus mode selection, AF area selection, or the popular eye AF lock feature.

    The telephoto zoom lens is dust and moisture resistant, and has a fluorine coating on the front lens that makes it easy to remove dust or grease. There is also a removable tripod stand.

    Professional operation and reliability
    The new FE 100-400mm GM lens incorporates optical image stabilization, ensuring that sharp images are captured during manual shooting. It also offers a minimum focusing range of just 0.98 meters (3.22 feet), maximizing its versatility in the field, and a 9-blade circular aperture design that produces smooth, beautiful bokeh.
    The FE 100-400mm GM is compatible with 1.4x (model SEL14TC) and 2.0x (model SEL20TC) teleconverters, allowing photographers and videographers to shoot up to 800mm on full-frame cameras and approximately 1200mm (equivalent to 35mm) on APS-C cameras.

In addition, a Nano AR coating has been applied to limit the ghosting effect and lens flare to increase contrast and color fidelity when working in bright lighting conditions.

    Complementing the optical assets, this lens is also notable for its inclusion of an 11-blade circular diaphragm to produce smooth, smooth-edged bokeh with selective focus images. To control focus, an XD linear motor system is employed that is fast and quiet, and also provides more responsive control for manual focus operation. The lens also has a dust- and moisture-sealed design to support shooting in harsh conditions and dedicated buttons to keep focus, AF/MF switch, and manual aperture ring lend greater control during shooting.
