This 28mm full-frame fixed wide-angle lens features a brilliant F2.0 maximum aperture and exceptional optical performance, making it the ideal second lens to complement a basic lens kit. Advanced optics allow for great sharpness even at the ends of the image, as well as a smooth bokeh effect whenever necessary. F2.0's maximum aperture makes it easy to capture clear images both indoors and in low-light environments. An internal focusing mechanism allows the operation of the autofocus to be smooth and quiet, ideal for v ́ and photographs. For wide-angle perspectives, an optional 21mm wide-angle converter and a 16mm fisheye converter with 180° (diagonal) integral 1 coverage are available for greater expression potential.

The FE 28mm f/2 lens SONY is a prime full-frame lens with wide-angle capability for E-Mount mirrorless cameras. Its wide focal length and fast aperture make it a practical and versatile complement to your equipment bag. It is also compatible with E-mount APS-C format cameras, which provides the equivalent viewing angle of a 42mm lens in 35mm/full-screen format.

Its optical design integrates extra-low dispersion glass elements that reduce chromatic aberrations and provide better contrast. In addition, aspherical and advanced aspherical elements minimize spherical aberrations and help maintain the compact, lightweight shape of the lens. Multi-layer on ED glass elements reduce reflections and ghosting and also improve overall image contrast and quality.

An internal focusing system and a linearly driven autofocus mechanism provide fast and quiet focusing and make this lens ideal for both photo capture and video recording. The internal focusing system also maintains the compact length of the lens during focusing and does not rotate the front element. A uniquely designed 9-sheet system creates a circular opening that helps create pleasant out-of-focus highlights.

The compact design of this lens is a great match for the compact cameras of the E-Mount and its robust construction with dust and moisture resistant seals allow it to be used in less than optimal conditions. It supports ultra-wide converter lenses and fisheye SONY for even wider perspectives.

Wide Angle First Full-Frame Lens E-Mount Cameras
This primary 28mm lens is designed for the full-frame E-Mount mirrorless cameras format and is also compatible with APS-C format cameras where it lends the equivalent 35mm long focal length of a 42mm lens. Its maximum aperture of f/2 is effective in low light conditions and allows for depth of field control.
Optical Design
Aspherical and advanced aspherical lens elements reduce spherical aberration and extra-low dispersion crystal multi-coated elements minimize chromatic aberration and reduce ghosting and brightness for sharper images with higher contrast.
Internal Focus and Autofocus Linear Actuator Mechanism
Only the middle groups of the optical system move to achieve focus, so the total length of the lens does not change. Other important benefits include fast autofocus and a minimum short focus distance. Also, the filter thread on the front of the lens does not rotate, which is convenient if you are using a polarizing filter. The linear AF actuator system provides smooth and quiet AF action.
Circular aperture
A unique 9-leaf design keeps the opening almost perfectly circular. Soft, more natural out-of-focus highlights can be obtained as a result.
Compact, Robust Form Factor
At less than 2.5" long, this 28mm lens is an ideal companion for E-Mount mirrorless cameras and its dust- and moisture-resistant seals allow it to be used in less than ideal conditions.
