The FX30's advanced imaging system is on par with other options in SONY's Cinema lineup: it captures detailed 10-bit 4K UHD images at up to 120fps, giving you specs that fit a true cinema camera. The new 26MP Exmor R APS-C CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor can create high-quality 4K images with the Super 35mm (16:9) area. This system is capable of capturing more than 14 stops of dynamic range and benefits from dual-base ISO architecture to improve low-light performance.

1. S-Cinetone uses the same color science as SONY's advanced cinema cameras, including the VENICE line, with natural midtones, soft colors, and soft dimming of lights.
2. Image profiles, such as S-Log3 and HLG, will capture images with expanded dynamic range and flexibility for editors.
3. Creative Aspects can be integrated into recorded footage to create a specific mood during recording and minimize the need for editing.
4. Up to 16 user-created LUTs and three presets can be configured to accurately monitor footage or preview a specific aspect during filming. These can be applied to the camera monitor or EVF as well as the HDMI output.

Professional features will help ensure that beginners and professionals can get the most out of the FX30. This includes three log firing modes:

1. Flexible ISO uses standard ISO settings for simple operation and the greatest flexibility.
2. Cine EI ensures maximum dynamic range capture by recording to a manually selected base ISO setting and applying adjustments to metadata for monitoring and post-production.
3. Cine EI quick will automatically switch between the two basic ISO settings for easier operation and great quality.

Enjoy high-speed, high-precision autofocus performance in all modes, including 4K up to 120fps, using an advanced fast hybrid AF system that uses 495 points spread across 90% of the image sensor.

Real-time Eye AF and Real-Time Tracking will track the eyes of humans and animals.

• 5-axis in-body image stabilization

Sony has equipped the FX30 with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization system that will help create smooth images even when working with the handheld. An active mode is available that combines optical systems with digital optimizations to capture ultra-smooth images. The FX30 can also record gyroscope movement when the optical stabilizers are off, which can be used in post-production to create a stable shot.

The SONY 18-105mm f4 OSS lens  , is a powerful zoom lens that offers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 27-158mm,  covering wide-angle to telephoto perspectives. A constant maximum aperture of f/4 delivers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and is especially beneficial when working at higher zoom magnifications in low-light conditions. Also benefiting from working in low light or in the long part of the zoom range is the SteadyShot optical image stabilization, It works to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops of shutter speed. The optical construction incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations while contributing to the sharper overall images with increased contrast and clarity.  Internal zoom operation uses Handycam technology and a Floating axis to help reduce noise during use and provide smooth and controlled zoom.
