The FX30's advanced imaging system is on par with other options in SONY's Cinema lineup: it captures detailed 10-bit 4K UHD images at up to 120fps, giving you specs that fit a true cinema camera. The new 26MP Exmor R APS-C CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor can create high-quality 4K images with the Super 35mm (16:9) area. This system is capable of capturing more than 14 stops of dynamic range and benefits from dual-base ISO architecture to improve low-light performance.

1. S-Cinetone uses the same color science as SONY's advanced cinema cameras, including the VENICE line, with natural midtones, soft colors, and soft dimming of lights.
2. Image profiles, such as S-Log3 and HLG, will capture images with expanded dynamic range and flexibility for editors.
3. Creative Aspects can be integrated into recorded footage to create a specific mood during recording and minimize the need for editing.
4. Up to 16 user-created LUTs and three presets can be configured to accurately monitor footage or preview a specific aspect during filming. These can be applied to the camera monitor or EVF as well as the HDMI output.

• Operation for all levels

Professional features will help ensure that beginners and professionals can get the most out of the FX30. This includes three log firing modes:

1. Flexible ISO uses standard ISO settings for simple operation and the greatest flexibility.
2. Cine EI ensures maximum dynamic range capture by recording to a manually selected base ISO setting and applying adjustments to metadata for monitoring and post-production.
3. Cine EI quick will automatically switch between the two basic ISO settings for easier operation and great quality.

Enjoy high-speed, high-precision autofocus performance in all modes, including 4K up to 120fps, using an advanced fast hybrid AF system that uses 495 points spread across 90% of the image sensor.

Real-time Eye AF and Real-Time Tracking will track the eyes of humans and animals.

Optimized for video and vlogging

Created with vlogging in mind, the key attributes of this lens relate to video recording performance, ease of use, and a highly versatile design:

The electronically controlled internal Power Zoom mechanism allows smooth zooming during shooting, with control possible via the lens body, using the zoom lever or zoom ring, or from selected camera bodies.

The internal zoom and internal focus design maintain the overall length of the lens during operation and also help reduce any changes in the center of gravity of the lens for better performance when mounted on a handheld gimbal.

The linear AF system is especially quiet and smooth and also supports linear response MF for natural manual focus control.

Smooth Motion Optics (SMO) suppresses focus breathing to help maintain composition accuracy when changing focus. This lens also supports the breath compensation function on selected Alpha cameras.

G-Series Optics

The ultra-wide-angle zoom offers a versatile focal length range equivalent to 15-30mm, striking an ideal balance between being wide enough for selfie-style vlogs and narrow enough for natural, everyday recording. In addition, the constant maximum aperture of f/4 offers consistency throughout the zoom range and combines brightness with a compact design.

Three aspherical elements help achieve great sharpness and suppress distortion and spherical aberrations.

Two ED elements promote greater clarity and color accuracy by reducing chromatic aberrations.

An ED aspherical element further contributes to impressive image quality by correcting a variety of aberrations.

The circular diaphragm provides a smooth and natural bokeh quality.

Refined focus performance

The linear motor system uses two independent motors to provide fast, quiet and accurate autofocus and tracking performance. This design also contributes to more natural and intuitive linear-response manual focus control and an AF/MF switch is located on the lens cylinder to quickly change the focus mode.

The internal focus design offers more responsive focusing performance and maintains a constant overall lens length during operation.

Suitable for close-ups, the minimum focusing distance in the 10mm position is 5.1" and, in the 20mm position, it is 6.7" with a maximum magnification of 0.18x; These two foreground distances are only possible with manual focus. When using autofocus, the minimum focusing distance is 7.9" with a maximum magnification of 0.14x.
