G lenses have been manufactured to the highest requirements and individually tested to ensure that each and every unit meets the same high standards of image quality and creative control.

AA (Advanced Aspherical) precision elements, super ED glass and nano anti-reflective coating combine in an advanced optical design to deliver high resolution across the entire image area regardless of focal length. A 9-blade circular aperture expands the expressive possibilities of the lens by contributing to a wonderful background bokeh effect with natural light points.

This compact and lightweight E-mount zoom lens offers maximum mobility and balance in α7 series bodies. Internal focus is also an advantage, keeping the lens length constant for better overall lens handling. All controls, including focus hold and focus distance limiters, have been designed to provide intuitive operation that allows the user to concentrate on each shot.

Built-in optical SteadyShot image stabilization compensates for blurry camera shake when shooting handheld. Crisp and clear telephoto shooting is now easier, and low-light indoor photography no longer requires an excessive increase in ISO sensitivity, eliminating the risk of higher noise.
