Impressively compact and versatile, the SONY FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6 is a wide-angle to normal long zoom characterized by its retractable design and sleek profile. The slim design makes this lens ideal for touring, everyday shooting, and the flexible focal length range benefits a wide range of subject types. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements, which help reduce distortion and spherical aberrations and promote greater sharpness and accurate rendering. Complementing the optics is a linear motor and internal focus design, which achieve fast and quiet autofocus performance for photography and video needs. The lens body is also weather-sealed to allow working in harsh environmental conditions.

The compact zoom is designed for full-frame SONY E-mount mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models, where it provides an equivalent focal length range of 42-90mm.

The retractable design maintains a particularly compact profile when not in use.

Three aspherical elements help reduce spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range to improve sharpness and accurate rendering.
