This update contains the 4K PHOTO and 4K VIDEO function which allows you to record high-quality 4K videos at 30p and capture bursts of images at 30 fps, a perfect tool to immortalize all the important moments. High-speed recording at 120fps is also possible, perfect for creating creative slow-motion shots.

The PANASONIC Lumix TZ99 black digital camera, designed with travel and daily use in mind, is a versatile compact camera that combines form and function for both beginner and experienced photographers. Designed to be as stylish as possible, the ZS99 manages to incorporate a high-sensitivity 1/2.3" 20.3MP MOS sensor, a lense with 30x DC Vario-Elmar optical LEICA zoom, a tilting rear LCD screen optimized for selfies, and a built-in flash to deliver high-quality images with ease.

20.3MP 1/2.3" MOS sensor

A large 1/2.3" 20.3MP high-sensitivity MOS sensor delivers great image quality with less noise and high sensitivity at an extended ISO 6400. The sensor and processor combination also delivers continuous shooting speeds from 30fps to 8MP in 4K photo modes.

Lense with zoom LEICA 30x DC Vario-Elmarit

A long-range 30x DC Vario-Elmarit LEICA zoom offers a focal length range equivalent to 24-720mm along with a maximum aperture range of f/3.3-6.4. The lense construction incorporates five double-sided aspherical elements to minimize spherical aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range for greater clarity and sharpness of the image.

The lense 's range benefits from a powerful 5-axis hybrid OIS system that compensates for a variety of camera shakes for sharper handheld shots in difficult lighting conditions. This image stabilization system also enables a unique shot leveling feature that automatically detects the horizontal line of the recording image and keeps it level during shooting, regardless of camera tilt, helping to achieve greater shooting stability.

4K photo and video modes

The sensor and processor combination also enables 4K 30p video recording in MP4 format at 100Mbps. Full HD 1080p and HD 720p recording is also possible, as well as high-speed Full HD recording with 120fps slow-motion playback.

In addition to video, 4K capabilities also allow 8MP stills to be recorded at 30fps in three ways:

4K Burst: As with video recording, this mode will allow you to continuously record 8MP footage at 30fps for up to 15 minutes, making it ideal for situations where you need a fast frame rate to capture the best moment.

4K Pre-Burst: This mode is ideal for those times when you're unsure of the critical moment to press the shutter button and will record 8MP footage at 30fps one second before and one second after pressing the shutter button to give you 60 frames to choose from.

4K Burst (S/S): This mode more closely follows the 4K video recording process and allows you to play your video, pause at the chosen time, and use the shutter button to mark a chosen frame of the video and save it as a single 8MP frame.

Back focus and focus stacking

Another attribute of 4K capabilities is a unique focusing method called Post Focus. Working in tandem with the 49-area contrast-detection focusing system, Post Focus records images as a 4K MP4 file at 30fps and changes the specific focus point throughout the burst of shots to offer a range of distinct focus ranges to choose from. During playback, through the camera's touchscreen, you can tap on the specific region of the image you want to be in focus, and an 8MP JPEG file will be created. Multiple individual files with different focus points can be created from the original burst and focus assist functions can also be used to gain even more precise control over the specific focused region.

Body design and built-in Wi-Fi

A 3.0" 1.84-million-dot tilt-rear LCD touchscreen monitor allows you to take live view photos, review images, and navigate the menu intuitively. The tilting screen lifts up for front-facing photos and videos, with selfie timers included in the firmware.

The USB-C port allows you to directly charge the battery and offers high-speed connected data transfer.

A series of manual controls offer simple, straightforward control over a variety of frequently used camera settings, including a control ring that surrounds the lens and can be set to adjust zoom, shutter speed, manual focus, and ISO sensitivity.

Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi allow you to wirelessly share photos and movies with paired smartphones and tablets for direct online sharing. The camera also features a Send to Smartphone button for easy and immediate sharing.

Other camera features

RAW files can be processed in-camera, allowing you to adjust color space (Adobe RGB/sRGB), white balance, exposure compensation, photographic style, intelligent dynamic range control, contrast, highlights and shadows, saturation, noise reduction, intelligent resolution, and sharpness.

Maximum focus is available for easier and more precise manual focus control.

The included rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives you 380 shots per charge.
