The TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 main controller alleviates a common problem among users of USB 3.0 cameras and digital backup who experience interrupted anchor connections or are unable to initiate an anchored connection. These challenges are affecting some of the most popular cameras on the market, including NIKON USB 3.0 cameras, CANON, Phase One, Mamiya Leaf, and PENTAX.

Computer manufacturers
The central problem is that computer manufacturers, often in an attempt to be as power efficient as possible, are dynamically underpowering or powering their USB 3.0 ports. These manufacturers are not currently considering the unique needs of photographers and this is causing these connectivity issues.

The TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 main controller conditions the line and regulates the power of digital DSLR/Backs to the computer, removing these limitations and allowing your tethered connection to operate at full USB3 speeds to connect connections from 15 to 65 feet without signal loss. The TetherBoost Pro also features the TrueConnect LED indicator that ensures signal connectivity between a photographer's DSLR, mirrorless or digital camera and a computer.

Additional power
The TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 main controller can be used with or without external power and will facilitate the production of a reliable connection in any way. However, adding power to the line will reduce the usual consumption of camera and computer batteries. The included USB DC cable is optional for adding an external USB battery (sold separately) or AC power (adapter included).

JerkStopper Extension Lock
Included in the TetherBoost Pro kit is a JerkStopper extension lock, an effective locking device that keeps the ends of the cable protected from frustrating disconnections, damage, and electrical hazards. The simple clam design allows you to close the JerkStopper extension lock around each end of the TetherBoost Pro and USB 3.0 cable, and then rotate to lock the cables safely. The JerkStopper extension lock comes with two included rubber washers that waterproof your connection, further protecting your connection and keeping the cable in place.
