Internal gimbal mechanism

The AX43A features a custom lens, developed for the highest quality 4K images across the wide-angle to telephoto range. The use of AA (Advanced Aspherical) lens elements ensures that even with the compact design, every scene is faithfully captured, while ED (Ultra Low Dispersion) glass delivers accurate color without distortion. ZEISS® coating* further enhances image quality by reducing unwanted reflections, including overlapping images and flare.

Wide-angle lens up to 26.8mm

Whether in stills or movies, the class-leading wide-angle lens can help you capture more landscapes and indoor scenes when you don't have room to zoom out. Even without a wide-angle converter, the camcorder records up to 26.8 mm30 (width/height ratio 16:9) in movie mode.

Full HD playback with super-fast sample rate

Prioritize a face by simply touching it on the LCD screen. Realistic recording of voices, music and other sounds

Thanks to its three-capsule design, the AX43A's microphone picks up sound from five directions and, with advanced audio processing, produces much better integrated audio recording. Approximately 40%29 less background noise is captured, and you'll enjoy better stereo or 5.1-channel surround separation (AVCHD) sound with more faithful capture, clearer dialogue, and more engaging soundtracks.

High-speed recording for high-quality slow motion

With support for high-speed frame rate capture, up to 100/120fps in Full HD, you can create slow-motion recordings, elevating every movement in stunning detail. Simply import the video into the free PlayMemories Home app, or other popular editing software, to reveal the action fluently and sharply even in the most conventional activities.

4K interval capture

With interval capture, you can take photos of a scene over a period of time with a selected interval between each photo. The resulting images can be combined at high resolution into an interval video on a PC and viewed with a simple variable speed preview function on the camera, even in high-quality 4K.

Cropped playback

You can select a specific part of the image and play it back in Full HD, thanks to the high 4K resolution. You can also change the crop size33 using the zoom lever or on-screen icon.

Timecode / user bits

The AX43A can incorporate embedded data elements into your video for professional workflows and tracking. The timecode function records a precise frame sync sequence, ideal for accurate editing matching in multi-camera shots. The user bit allows you to embed an eight-character reference, such as a scene number, to footage for easy tracking in post-production.
