New Technology Explained
what is Triple Base ISO?
Triple Base ISO offers the best signal-to-noise ratio at high magnifications. The state-of-the-art BSI 6K sensor at Canon measures at three basic ISO values: 800 ISO, 3200 ISO and 12800 ISO*. Choose from these or use auto switching to let the EOS C80 camera choose the optimum setting.
Basics: BSI sensors
The improved architecture of the stacked backside illumination (BSI) sensor places the circuitry below the sensor plane. Benefits include increased dynamic range, autofocus and rolling shutter performance.
why is metadata so important?
In VFX and virtual production workflows, camera metadata is essential for producing professional results. EOS C80 and RF camera mount lenses from Canon allow you to extract every detail of metadata, from ISO sensitivity to f/ aperture and even distortion correction, to make the post-production process smoother than ever.

Canon RF 24-105mm f2.8 lens
A powerful multi-purpose zoom for stills and video, the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 L ISM Z lens from Canon is the first of its kind with this focal length and aperture. Utilizing dual Nano USM motors, this lens achieves fast, near-silent autofocusing. The constant f/2.8 aperture enables optimal low-light performance and provides flattering portrait bokeh at any focal length. Optical image stabilization built into the lens offers five and a half steps of correction or eight steps with coordinated IS when combined with a compatible camera. Four ultra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements help create sharper images and reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations. In addition, the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 benefits from Super Spectra, Air Sphere and Fluorine coatings, which work together to minimize ghosting and flare caused by lens surface reflection.
Quiet Nano USM autofocus
Two autofocus motors Canon Nano USM enable smooth and responsive focusing performance from the RF 24-105mm f/2.8. Permanent manual focus is also available. Eleven aperture blades make out-of-focus areas of your frame more visually pleasing.
Practical in any shooting scenario
With its constant f/2.8 aperture, the RF 24-105mm excels even in adverse lighting conditions, making it an excellent choice for weddings, events and photojournalism. While many comparable lenses have a 70mm limit, this lens' ability to reach 105mm gives users the advantage of stronger portrait focal lengths.
Focus ring with tactile feedback
As you turn the focus ring in either direction, you'll feel gentle clicks that give you an idea of how much you're adjusting.
