To give photographers the flexibility to capture images from tricky vantage points, the camera features a vari-angle touchscreen, which can be positioned at virtually any angle, for more creative compositions.
The EOS 850D's Canon autofocus tracking is done at high speed and with high accuracy, thanks to the 45-point cross-type AF sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF, while face detection is more reliable for improved exposure assessment when people appear in the scene. Perfect for shooting in difficult light conditions, such as when subjects are backlit.
Greater control of photos and videos
Whether shooting stills or movies, this fast and powerful DSLR delivers impeccable image quality as a result of DIGIC 8. The Canon EOS 850D can shoot in Full HD up to 60p and in spectacular 4K up to 25p1 and expands its predecessor's options for movie recording, with more detailed settings for time-lapse movie shooting and automatic scene selection. To compensate for the effects of camera shake when shooting in your hands, the EOS 850D features 5-axis Movie Digital IS image stabilisation for smooth, well-controlled movies.
Photographers, when shooting in Live View mode, have extremely precise control when selecting the focus point, with 143 points in automatic mode and 3,975 points in manual selection, thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Remote Live View gives photographers even greater control, including remote shooting and the ability to view images from their smartphone, perfect for those occasions when the photographer needs to be away from the camera. Capable of shooting in RAW, photographers can use all the information captured by the sensor, while shooting in C-RAW format will generate files of a smaller size, which almost doubles the capacity of the continuous shooting buffer from 40 to 75 images. Using in-camera RAW editing, users can refine their images without using a computer or mobile device.
Connect and share with ease
Connectivity options give enthusiastic photographers more ways to share their work and greater security during their capture. With 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth®2 Low Energy connectivity, photographers can connect the EOS 850D Canon to their iOS or Android devices using the Canon Camera Connect app to edit and share high-quality images. From here, content can be downloaded to a smart device, reviewed and uploaded to social media or shared with family and friends. With this integration, photographers will be able to easily edit their images using DPP Express for iPad3 for a complete RAW workflow while traveling. Auto Image Sync also easily backs up both photos and videos to the user's computer with Image Transfer Utility 2, so they never miss the most important moments.
For enthusiastic photographers thinking of taking creative control a step further, this stunning DSLR camera captures detailed photos and powerful 4K movies. Features Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 EFS IS STM
The Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 EFS IS STM photo lens is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with dynamic expressive capability and lightweight construction for all EF-S mounts on digital EOS cameras.
With an effective focal length range of approximately 16-35mm in 35mm format, this lens allows you to get very close to subjects, exaggerating the size difference between a close object and its background. Creative photographers can use this phenomenon to create excellent separation between subject and background for a strong sense of presence, or by a panoramic focus effect with everything from close-up to sharply focused background. An ultrasonic motor (USM) provides fast, smooth and quiet autofocus action and manual focus correction in photo-by-photo AF mode enables accurate focusing at all times.
Designed specifically for digital photography with APS-C sized sensors, the lens has three aspherical and one ultra-low dispersion elements to minimize aberrations and Super Spectra coatings suppress ghosting and reflections, which can be caused by reflections from digital camera sensors. A parasol is an optional accessory that can further reduce the incidence of flare.
It uses optics designed to take full advantage of the small APS-C circle image and the short focus again on EF-S lenses. It offers the equivalent focal length in 35 mm length of 16-35 mm.
It features three aspherical lens elements (two types) as well as a Super-UD glass element for minimized aberration high image quality at all focal lengths.
Optimized lens coating minimizes reflections and ghosting prone to occur with digital cameras.
