Combining a short telephoto field of view with a sleek design and close-focus performance, the RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is a complete lens for a variety of subjects, from portraits to macro subjects. Its close-focus design allows you to work with subjects up to 1.15' away at a maximum magnification of 1:2 and the STM stepper motor delivers impressively quiet and smooth autofocus performance and overrides full-time manual focus. To help create sharp images, the lens also features optical image stabilization, along with Hybrid IS, to suppress up to five stops of camera shake for cleaner, steadier shots. A UD (Ultra low Dispersion) element is also used in the optical design to minimize aberrations and ensure clarity. In addition, a configurable control ring allows you to adjust exposure settings, including ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation, from the lens itself.
