DJI RS 4 Mini incorporates automatic axle locking, which was already found in DJI 's flagship stabilisers and allows the three-axis lock to automatically unlock when switched on and locked when switched off or when entering sleep mode. This significantly speeds up the recording, transitioning and storage processes. The storage structure has been improved with the axle arms that fold flatter to save space. In combination with the automatic axle lock, the stabilizer can be quickly stored at the touch of a button, so it can be placed in a bag for convenient transport.

Faster vertical shifting

RS 4 Mini offers the fastest horizontal-to-vertical recording changeover in the RS series. To switch to vertical recording, simply loosen and press the side wheel, remove the horizontal plate from the gimbaro, rotate it 90° and tighten it again. Everything can be done in 10 seconds. This way, you can directly record vertical videos, perfectly adapted to viewing on mobile phones, so that your audience can enjoy your masterpiece even earlier.

Balancing three times easier

Do you find it difficult to balance the camera when installing it? RS 4 Mini has been thoroughly improved thanks to the addition of the Teflon mid-layers that were already used in DJI's flagship stabilizers. These layers reduce friction to offer a better balance.

The new precision adjustment wheel on the tilt axis can move the camera forward or backward for pinpoint precision balancing.

The top quick-release plate adds three positioning slots so you can choose different installation positions depending on your camera, offering more balancing space. When you need to remove the camera from the gimbal and reattach it, it will also help you quickly remember the position without affecting balance.

Versatility

Works with cameras and smartphones

The lightweight RS 4 Mini offers an instrument load capacity of 2 kg (4.4 lbs) to effortlessly handle combinations such as the Sony A7 series mirrorless camera with a 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens, as well as vlog cameras such as the Sony ZV series. When paired with DJI Mic Series microphones, fill lights, and other accessories, it still allows you to make smooth movements with the camera. You can also quickly switch to a smartphone stabilizer if you use the new Phone Holder.  Its versatility is perfectly suited to different scenarios.

Wireless Recording & zoom

After Bluetooth pairing,  you can control the start and end of your camera or phone recording directly via the gimbal record button, without having to let go of any cables. The new zoom control function allows you to control the motorized zoom on PZ lenses and the Clear Image Zoom with a simple push of the joystick, making one-handed operation a breeze. The camera only needs to be paired once, then it can be reconnected automatically and efficiently.

Smart UI improvements

The touchscreen now displays icons more clearly and works more smoothly.  New stabilizer status alerts have been added, and by customizing parameters, you can adjust the values using the front dial directly.  The touchscreen has a built-in auto-lock function. Once locked, the display will display the current stabilizer and joystick modes at low brightness. This not only prevents accidental touches, it also helps save battery power.

Introducing the DJI RS Smart Tracking Module, a new universal accessory in the RS 4 series. It helps novice videographers in intelligent tracking filming and compositing,  by keeping the human subject in a constant position within the frame. This is extremely useful for orbital shots, rearward tracking shots, and for following yourself from a fixed camera position when shooting alone. The module supports tracking up to 10 meters, and works reliably even in complex scenes, such as in multi-person environments. Even if the subject temporarily leaves the plane, the stabilizer can find and follow them again. 

Magnetic mount in 1 s

The tracking module features a quick-release magnetic design that allows it to be attached to the tilt axis in just one second for use with the stabilizer. Thanks to the magnetic lock design, it will stay securely in place without loosening or falling off, ensuring a more reliable filming process.

Start and stop tracking in 1 s

With a single press of the shutter button, you can instantly lock onto the target and start or stop smart tracking, so you can keep up with the star of the show. Alternatively, open your palm towards the tracking module so that it recognizes you as a target within 1 second and starts/stops auto-tracking. This feature is perfect for taking selfies.

In the new Sensitive mode, the stabilizer responds faster to hand movements at start and stop. This is ideal suitable for fast orbit shots.

It also retains the classic DJI fluid tracking mode so that the stabilizer responds smoothly, making it ideal for regular tracking shots or parallel tracking. By combining different tracking modes and speeds, you can create a wide variety of narratives

4th generation stabilization

RS 4 Mini has been updated to the 4th generation RS stabilization algorithm. It strikes a superior balance between stabilization strength and tactile perception of camera movement, delivering excellent performance and a better user experience. In addition, RS 4 offers significantly improved stability in vertical shooting, so that dynamic shots can be easily stabilised, e.g. running or low angle. In addition, the stabilizer is optimized for multi-camera compatibility and automatically calibrates the power of the motor to suit different scenarios.

Fast charging, long battery life

Both charging speed and battery life have been increased by 30%[12] compared to the last generation. With a [13] maximum runtime of 13 hours, it provides enough power to record all day long. It also supports fast charging, allowing it to be used for 5 hours [13] just by charging it for 30 minutes.

Lightweight structure, high load capacity

Weighing just 890g (2lbs), RS 4 Mini boasts a payload capacity of up to 2kg (4.4lbs). It supports a wide range of mirrorless cameras and conventional lens combinations to deliver powerful performance. It is compatible with a Sony A7 series camera with a 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens, along with a DJI Mic series microphone receiver. Thanks to the high-torque motors, RS 4 Mini can maintain a stable shot when zoom to maximum focal lengths when using the following recommended combinations without the need for rebalancing.
