The BG-E9 grip for the 60D CANON EOS from CANON is a very useful accessory to have on hand for your DSLR. Not only does it offer you the convenience of a vertical trigger, but it has the added benefit of AE/FE Lock, AF Point Selection Expand Button and Aperture Exposure Compensation. It is not an easy to use, connect/disconnect mechanism. The handle also provides extra weight to the camera that gives it more to hold onto. It works well two optional LP-E6 lithium batteries or six optional "AA" batteries.
