In addition, the GFX100RF is the first to adopt a precision-machined aluminum top plate. This same meticulous machining extends to components such as the lens ring, dials and bottom plate, enhancing the feel of the metal and offering a unified design that enhances the satisfaction of owning it.
In addition, the new 35mm F4 lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) offers a versatile field of view, while the new high-speed, high-precision AI-based subject detection AF ensures exceptional performance in a variety of shooting scenarios, from casual snapshots to professional reportage.
The GFX100RF is a special camera that combines our long history of contributing to the development of photographic culture through various products and services with the latest technology and design, offering a premium lifestyle experience.
Features and design that enhance the appeal of large format by combining history and cutting-edge technology.
- For the first time in our digital cameras, the top plate is made from precision-machined aluminum. This meticulous machining extends to the lens ring, dials, bottom plate and other details, enhancing the texture of the metal and unifying the design. This results in a sophisticated design that enhances the presence of the camera body and dials, worthy of a premium model.
The camera incorporates our first aspect ratio dial on the top rear. This allows you to easily switch between nine versatile aspect ratios that we have offered for both photos and video formats since our founding. Recently, we've added 3:4 and 17:6 aspect ratios. Selecting the aspect ratio that best suits your subject or creative intent makes the large format shooting experience even more enjoyable.
We have incorporated a new 3.15-inch, 2.1 million pixel, dual-axis tilt LCD monitor. This new user interface (UI) optimizes the alignment of shooting icons to match the 3:2 aspect ratio of the monitor, enhancing the immersive shooting experience. In addition, a new surround view function has been added, which displays areas outside the frame in semi-transparent or linear format, depending on the aspect ratio. This function can be easily activated with a toggle while looking through the viewfinder, providing an optical viewfinder-like experience, even with an EVF, allowing you to be aware of what is happening outside the frame.
3) The new 35mm F4 fixed lens allows for compact size and exceptional imaging performance.
- We have developed a new 35mm F4 specific lens for the GFX100RF. By adopting a leaf shutter mechanism instead of a focal plane shutter and using a fixed lens design, we shortened the rear focus. This created additional space, which we used to optimize the layout of the lens and camera components, significantly reducing the overall size.
- The versatile 35 mm focal length (equivalent to 28 mm in 35 mm format) is ideal for a wide range of scenes, including landscapes, travel, snapshots and portraits. Its compact size enhances mobility and increases shooting flexibility.
- The 10-element configuration in 8 groups, including two aspherical lenses, reduces spherical aberration and field curvature, delivering high-resolution performance. A new Nano GI coating, optimized for lenses with significant curvature, suppresses light reflection even at the lens periphery. This ensures exceptional resolution worthy of the GFX Series.
- You can shoot subjects at a distance of up to 20 cm from the lens. Despite being a large-format camera, its compact and lightweight design allows you to get close to your subject and enjoy shooting with complete freedom.
- For the first time in the GFX Series, the camera incorporates a 4-stop ND filter. This is useful for shooting with a large aperture in bright environments or at slow shutter speeds.
- The leaf shutter allows flash photography at any shutter speed, providing greater flexibility and expanding creative possibilities, even for daytime outdoor shooting.
4) With high-speed, high-precision autofocus and 4K/30P video capability, the GFX100RF offers exceptional performance in a wide range of scenarios.
- The GFX100RF incorporates an advanced AF prediction function and Face and Eye Detection AF with an enhanced algorithm. In addition, AI Subject Detection AF uses deep learning technology to recognize a wide variety of subjects, such as animals, vehicles, birds and aircraft. For video recording, the tracking AF function has been enhanced, enabling easy subject tracking with touch operation. Whether for still images or movies, the GFX100RF offers high tracking performance, ensuring a comfortable shooting experience.

Average daily format
The FUJIFILM GFX100RF, a pioneering camera in its class, incorporates a 102 MP medium format sensor into a compact, all-in-one design, making it the ideal camera for everyday photographers. Combining the high resolution of medium format with a sleek, lightweight rangefinder-style body and a built-in wide-angle prime lens, this camera is ideal for travel photographers, urban photographers and other spontaneous photographers looking for the perfect combination of refined image quality and simplicity in design.
102 MP medium format sensor and X 5 processor
Using the proven sensor from the GFX 100S II, this 102 MP, 43.8 x 32.9 mm BSI CMOS sensor offers incredible resolution, 16-bit RAW files, 10-bit HEIF, wide dynamic range, low noise with a base ISO of 80 and cropping versatility to work with nine different aspect ratios. In addition, this camera uses FUJIFILM's high-end X 5 processor, which contributes to fast overall performance for continuous shooting at up to 6 fps, recording 4K video and using the Intelligent Hybrid AF system for fast and accurate autofocusing.
Aspect ratio dial and digital teleconverter
In addition to the impressive image quality offered by the 102 MP sensor, it also makes it easy to work with different aspect ratios or effective focal lengths (cropping) while maintaining high effective resolution. To encourage the use of these creative tools, the GFX100RF includes a dedicated aspect ratio dial on the back of the camera and a lever below the shutter release to control the digital teleconverter settings.
On the back of the camera, above the LCD screen, is a dedicated dial for switching between nine different aspect ratios: 4:3, 3:4, 5:4, 1:1, 3:2, 7:6, 65:24, 17:6 and 16:9. Many of these options harken back to FUJIFILM's earlier medium format film camera systems, from the native 4:3 ratio shared by the GX680 system; the 7:6 format shared by the GW670 and GF670 cameras; the ultra wide-angle 65:24 wide-angle of the TX-1 rangefinder; and the unique 3:4 vertical ratio, similar to some GA645 and GS645 series 6 x 4.5 cameras.
The selected aspect ratio will be visible when working with the electronic viewfinder or rear LCD screen when capturing JPEG + RAW or JPEG only, but the aspect ratio selections will not be visible when working with RAW only recording.
On the front of the camera is a toggle lever programmed to switch between three different digital teleconverter settings: 45mm, 63mm and 80mm, reminiscent of three of FUJIFILM's GF lenses for its GFX interchangeable lens system. Since the GFX100RF has a fixed 35mm f/4 lens, this tool takes advantage of the huge 102 MP resolution and crops the image to simulate the field of view as if working with different focal lengths, while maintaining reasonable resolution.
Built-in wide-angle 35 mm f/4 lens
The main factor contributing to the uniqueness of the GFX100RF is its built-in GF 35mm f/4 wide-angle fixed lens, which makes it a compact, fun, intuitive and always ready-to-shoot camera with the exceptional image quality expected from a medium format.
The 35mm focal length is equivalent to 28mm on full-frame cameras, providing an overall wide-angle field of view that suits a wide range of subjects, from street scenes and documentaries to landscapes, interiors and travel situations, and even close-ups thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 7.8". The maximum aperture of f/4 is effective for shooting in natural light and offers some control of depth of field, but primarily helps reduce the size and weight of the camera for everyday carry.
Internal ND and leaf shutter
Based on the X100 series cameras, the GFX100RF's lens design also incorporates an internal 4-stop neutral density (ND) filter and uses a leaf shutter for greater exposure flexibility.
4-stop ND provides access to slower shutter speeds or wider aperture settings when working in bright conditions; perfect for situations where you want to exaggerate subject movement with motion blur or if you want a shallower depth of field in bright, sunny conditions.
The leaf shutter design, in typical medium format style, provides the ability to synchronize the flash with any mechanical shutter speed (up to 1/4000 sec) for creative fill flash techniques or to better freeze motion while maintaining sufficient background exposure.
Compact, elegant and functional design
Designed for everyday wear, travel and more
The GFX100RF is a stylish all-in-one package with an especially portable and intuitive design that suits travel photographers, everyday carry-ons and any other situation where a combination of high image quality and a stylish, dedicated design is valued.
The rangefinder-inspired design with offset viewfinder is comfortable and easy to use and is reminiscent of classic rangefinder film cameras as well as FUJIFILM's latest X100 and GFX 50R series digital cameras.
Small and light, the camera measures 5.3 x 3.6 x 3" and weighs 1.6 lb with battery and memory cards; it is nearly half an inch smaller in all dimensions and 3.5 oz lighter compared to the GFX 100S II camera body without lens.
