XS20 FUJI Features

The X-S20 is a mirrorless digital camera that is equipped with the 26.1 MP "X-Trans™ CMOS 4"  back-illuminated sensor and the "X-Processor 5" high-speed image processing engine to produce high-quality images.

It features the X-S series' signature large grip for stability when held in your hand. The use of the new high-capacity battery has more than doubled the number of frames approx. 800 compared to the previous model. The compact and lightweight body, weighing only 491g, makes it comfortable to use even in long-duration shots. The camera also features the five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism that offers an advantage of up to 7.0 stops. The AI-based Subject Detection AF, capable of detecting animals and cars, adds to its AF performance, equivalent to the fifth-generation X-series camera, FUJIFILM X-T5, for greater mobility. The X-S20 supports 10-bit 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 video recording internally and features a 3.5mm microphone/headphone jack for connecting external accessories for full, full-fledged video recording. In addition, the new Vlog mode makes it easier to produce a Vlog when the camera is paired with the tripod grip, TG-BT1.

 Product Features

High-performance AF and high-quality image quality with the 26.1 MP image sensor and the latest high-speed image processing engine

The X-S20 is equipped with the 26.1 MP back-illuminated sensor "X-Trans™ CMOS 4" and the high-speed image processing engine "X-Processor 5" to produce high-quality images while keeping power consumption lower than the previous model. The camera features subject detection AF, developed with Deep Learning technology. AI is used to detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects, and drones*6. The AF system automatically follows the desired subject while keeping it in focus, allowing users to focus on a shutter and framing opportunity. The evolved AF prediction algorithm enables stable focusing even in AF-C mode. The AUTO mode, which automatically selects the optimal settings according to the scenes, is complemented by the new automatic subject detection function. It automatically detects a subject and tracks it while keeping it in focus to produce high-quality stills and videos with ease. The X-S20 comes with 19 movie simulation modes, including "Nostalgic Neg.," which is characterized by high saturation and smooth tonality. Users can use Film Simulation presets, designed for various types of subjects and scenes, as if they were choosing photographic films. Select "Birds" or "Airplanes" in the subject detection settings for insects and drones, respectively, for AI-powered insect and drone detection. *6:

Incorporating a high-capacity battery and a high-performance IBIS mechanism in the compact and lightweight body for ease and comfort. lightweight, weighing only 491g. The use of the high-capacity battery, NP-W235, has more than doubled the number of frames to approx. 800 compared to the previous model. The longer battery life means users can enjoy shooting without worrying about the remaining charge level, making the camera the perfect choice for taking pictures throughout the day or while traveling. The camera is equipped with the five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism that offers an advantage of up to 7.0 stops. It makes it easy to shoot handheld camera at night or in low-light conditions. The X-S20 is equipped with a 2.36-million-dot EVF with 0.62x magnification, as well as a 1.84-million-dot rear LCD monitor with vari-angle structure, which can be placed at a variety of angles, making it self-yourself. Easy portraits. The camera can also be combined with the tripod grip, TG-BT1, for Vlog production.

6.2K/30P video recording and other extensive video functions The X-S20 can record 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video internally, and it also supports extensive video functions including 4K/60P and 1080/240P capability. The camera features F-Log2 to record video in the expanded dynamic range of 1.3+ stops for rich tonality, adding freedom in post-production creativity. When paired with an HDMI ATOMOS device, the X-S20's RAW video output can be recorded as 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW at resolutions up to 6.2K and frame rates up to 29.97 fps. When combined with Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12G, the camera's RAW video output can be recorded as Blackmagic RAW at resolutions up to 6.2K and frame rates up to 29.97fps. The camera features a 3.5mm microphone/headphone jack for high expandability despite its compact and lightweight body. In addition, the new Vlog mode has been introduced for Vlog production. Set the mode dial on the top panel to "Vlog" to change camera settings at the touch of a button for self-portraits. Use a USB Type-C cable to connect the camera to a computer and use it as a webcam without having to use software like FUJIFILM X Webcam *8.

Features FUJI 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens

*Equivalent to the 35 mm format: 27-84 mm.

The linear motor-driven system delivers high-speed autofocus performance of 0.1 seconds to capture the perfect photographic opportunities. This lens is also suitable for video recording because of its quiet operation.

Advanced optical and mechanical designs have been used to maintain the small size of the lens despite offering a maximum aperture of F2.8 – 4.0. It is a bright and highly portable lens, which offers excellent image quality in different types of scenes and is suitable for low-light photography or scenes with an attractive background bokeh effect.

It incorporates a four-stop equivalent OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer), which controls the effects of camera shake and prevents blurry images. The lens is equipped with an aperture ring that allows users to easily adjust the aperture while holding the camera at eye level.

Features FUJI 55-200mm

The image stabilization function allows for shutter speeds of 4.5 stops less, preventing camera shake even when shooting handheld in low-light conditions or reducing the aperture. In addition, its design incorporates two linear motors for high-speed autofocus in 0.28 seconds*1, allowing you to focus on your subject instantly.

The advanced optical design allows the range from a medium telephoto lens (84 mm*2) to a telephoto lens (305 mm*2) to be covered and the maximum aperture of F3.5-4.8 is achieved despite its compact size. In this way, the lens offers mobility and at the same time excellent descriptive performance.

It features an image stabilisation function that allows you to use shutter speeds 4.5 stops less, detecting a wide range of camera movements from low to high frequencies to provide advanced correction.
It uses two linear motors for high-speed autofocus and quiet operation, so the lens is also suitable for video recording.
It incorporates two extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses, including a Super ED lens that offers performance equivalent to fluorite lenses, which control chromatic aberrations common at long focal lengths, to produce images with good corner-to-corner resolution across the entire focal range of the zoom.
FUJINON's patented "HT-EBC coating" is applied to the entire lens surface to effectively prevent reflections and control flare and ghosting.
It offers a minimum focusing distance of approximately 1.1m across the entire focal range to enable telephoto close-ups where a small part of the subject is captured.
It incorporates an aperture ring with 1/3EV steps that allows the user to easily adjust the aperture while holding the camera at eye level.
The focus ring and aperture ring are metallic and have been designed to offer a high-quality feel, with the advantage that they are extraordinarily robust.

Along with the launch of the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8R LM OIS lens, Fujifilm will update the firmware of the X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras. Thanks to a new algorithm, the firmware will take full advantage of the lens's capabilities, allowing both cameras to quickly search for contrast AF across the entire focal length range. The focusing speed will be as low as 0.7 seconds, even if you search from infinity to the minimum distance to the object in telephoto. With the new firmware update, the X-Pro1 and X-E1 will also improve AF speed with the other existing XF lenses. *3

The firmware will be available for download in www.fujifilm.com as the launch of the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8R LM lens approaches.

*1 Based on CIPA standards

*2 Equivalent to 35mm format.

*3 All XF lenses will need to have their firmware updated except for the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS. The lens firmware will be available from July 2013.
