Fuji GFX 100S + 80mm

Key features FUJI GFX 100S

(1) 102 MP images created at the speed of a compact mirrorless camera that can only be provided by the large format.

・ Powered by Fujifilm's quad-core X-Processor 4 CPU, FUJI GFX 100S+ 63mm has a 102MP back-illuminated large-format CMOS sensor to deliver images with stunning quality. Compared to the smaller, lower-resolution sensors commonly found in traditional full-frame DSLR and mirrorless cameras, the GFX100S's image sensor is about 1.7 times larger and enhanced to be incredibly sensitive to light. This gives you a significant advantage over smaller sensors when it comes to producing images with an incredibly shallow depth of field, fantastic dynamic range, faithful color reproduction, and exceptional high ISO performance.

・ Fujifilm's expertise in color science is legendary among imagers. For more than 86 years, Fujifilm has been responsible for some of the world's most iconic photography and film. It provides access to this great experience at the touch of a button, powered by one of the world's most acclaimed digital color processing engines. With a choice of 19 unique FUJIFILM film simulation modes, it's easy to achieve fantastic colors right from the camera. FUJI GFX 100S+ 63mm includes a new movie simulation mode to explore: Nostalgic Neg. - It may be worth spending a little more time here than I originally thought. Nostalgic Neg, reminiscent of American New Color photography, which emerged in the 1970s, continues this movement by expanding the boundaries of photographic creativity through the deliberate use of color. Its unique hue adds an amber hue to highlights for a softer look and increases shadow saturation, while retaining detail, to bring a lyrical feel to images.

 (2) High-performance mirrorless AF designed for large format, even in low-light conditions

・ Unlike many other large format and medium format cameras, the phase detection pixels on the sensor cover nearly 100% of the GFX100S's image sensor, unlocking a level of autofocus performance never before seen in large format digital photography. This means that the camera can acquire focus in as little as 0.16 seconds, even at luminance levels as low as -5.5EV*4, making it versatile, accurate, and incredibly fast. Powered by X-Processor 4, the camera can also make efficient use of an updated focus tracking algorithm to keep subjects in focus when using the tracking AF and Face/Eye AF functions.

(3) Compact 5-axis body stabilization that offers up to 6 stops of vibration reduction

・FUJI GFX 100S+ 63mm features a newly designed In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) system, which dramatically expands photographers' ability to create portable images with confidence. Compared to the unit found in the FUJIFILM GFX100, the IBIS mechanism inside GFX100S is 20% smaller and 10% lighter. However, despite this reduction in size, the five-axis system provides 6 stops of CIPA-rated image stabilization, a 0.5-stop improvement over the GFX100.

(4) High performance; Designed for portability and the elements

・ Weighing just 900 g (1.9 lbs) and 15 cm wide, 10.4 cm high and 8.7 cm deep (5.9 x 4.09 x 3.4 inches), the GFX100S's compact body is comparable in size to many full-frame cameras. However, despite its compact size, it is somehow still capable of packing in a high-performance IBIS and a 102MP image sensor that is almost twice the physical size of a typical full-frame sensor. The GFX100S features a redesigned shutter unit and a new IBIS unit, while taking advantage of a smaller but highly efficient lithium-ion battery. This results in a camera body that is about 6 cm (2.3 inches) shorter and 500 g (1.1 lb) lighter than the GFX100, but is able to maintain the same level of stills and video performance despite being smaller. To that end, the reduction in the physical size of the GFX100S is well balanced by a very robust grip, with a comfortable feel in the hand, which makes it exceptionally easy to hold for extended periods of time.

FUJI GFX 100S+ 63mm is designed to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F) and to be resistant to dust and moisture. It's also built with a magnesium alloy housing that's intentionally denser around the lens mount by 1mm compared to the GFX100, providing additional support for larger G-mount lenses.

(5) Intuitive controls for a familiar experience

・ GFX100S features controls that will be familiar to new and existing GFX system photographers. For example, a PASM dial, with six programmable custom options, provides quick and direct access to frequently used settings, while a switch, conveniently located next to the mode dial, allows users to quickly switch between still image and movie mode. An ergonomic update to the focus lever also makes choosing a focus point easy and seamless.

・ The camera features a 3.2-inch LCD monitor on the rear and a secondary 1.8-inch LCD monitor on its top plate, which can be customized to display key EXIF settings such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO sensitivity, and exposure compensation, and set to display the status of key functions or available capacity on storage media. The 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD is a 2.36-million-dot monitor with 100% coverage that can be tilted in three directions (90° up, 45° down, and 60° right).

(6) A large format system that delivers smooth 4K30P video

・ With its large-format image sensor, FUJI GFX 100S+ 63mm is capable of recording stunningly cinematic 4K/30p movies that boast an incredibly shallow depth of field, impressive high ISO performance, wide tonal gradation, and unmatched overall image quality. Footage can be recorded at bitrates of 400Mbps at a variety of different quality levels, from 10-bit 4:2:0 F-log internally on an SD card, to 12-bit 4:2:2 ProRes RAW via the HDMI port.

・ In addition to being able to record 4k footage in a 16:9 aspect ratio, the GFX100S also supports a 17:9 aspect ratio, which is frequently used in digital cinema. The most commonly used compression codecs, such as H.264 and H.265, are also available. In addition, professional standards, such as REC.2100 or F-Log compliant Hybrid Gamma Log (HLG), can be selected for complete creative control. Compared to using commonly available compression codecs, such as H.264, recording footage in F-Log or HLG gives filmmakers much more flexibility in post-production, as the footage goes through the process of color editing and grading and adjustments are made to luminance and color saturation. , or any other image attribute.

・ For maximum flexibility with image-based adjustments and color grading option, GFX100S can also record 4K/30P footage in 12-bit RAW via HDMI directly to an Atomos Ninja V recording monitor and then output it as ProRes RAW. This allows all decisions about the image to be made after production, in post, without in-camera processing. Simultaneous output of RAW footage and footage in F-Log or Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) is also possible with a movie simulation mode applied.

Features FUJI GF 80mm f1.7 R WR Lens

The Fujifilm GF 80mm f1.7 R WR features nine rounded diaphragm blades that can be stopped to provide edge-to-edge sharpness or can be opened to produce images with beautifully smooth bokeh, with amazing separation between a subject and its background, from any GFX system camera. Fujifilm GF 80mm f1.7 R WR is Composed of 12 lens elements in nine groups, including one aspherical element and two Super ED elements, this lens is optimally balanced to control spherical aberration and deliver a bokeh quality so aesthetically pleasing that it most likely cannot be reproduced by any other large-format lens.

The use of ultra-high-precision glass molding technology means that both surfaces of the aspherical lens element can be manufactured to a tolerance of 1/100,000 millimeter. This is five times more accurate than normal molding and reduces the onion ring effect that can often negate the effect that bokeh can have on out-of-focus sections of an image.

The world's first F1.7 lens with autofocus for a large-format digital system

The GF 80mm FUJI lens features a powerful DC motor that has enough torque to drive the lens's six-element focus group, which includes the aspherical element, to deliver accurate and reliable autofocus, even when the lens is wide open at F1.7 and the depth of field is extremely shallow. The lens also supports the Face/Eye AF feature, which uses an advanced focusing algorithm to accurately acquire focus on a subject's face or eye even when they move within the frame.

GF80mmF1.7 brings a half-stop improvement to the luminance limit of the GFX100's AF scene. By moving from EV-5.0 to EV-5.5, the GFX100's autofocus is now even more capable in low-light conditions.

Compact and practical size

Lens FUJI GF 80mm has a size of 99.2mm (3.9 inches) long and a weight of only 795g (1.75lb), with a filter thread size of 77mm, the GF80mmF1.7 is handy sized and suitable for both on-site and studio applications.

Weatherproof seals have been applied to the lens barrel in 10 places on the lens to protect it from dust and water, while giving it the ability to operate in temperatures down to -10°C (14°F). The front lens element is also coated with fluorine to repel dirt and provide an extra layer of protection.
