The GFX100RF is the first fixed-lens digital camera in the GFX series, equipped with the 102-megapixel high-speed sensor "GFX 102MP CMOS II" and the latest high-speed image processor "X-Processor 5". After a thorough overhaul of both the lens and body design, it weighs approximately 735g※2, making it the lightest camera in the GFX series※3 despite being a prime lens. This allows us to deliver an exceptional high-quality photography experience to an even greater number of users.

The GFX100RF is the first to feature an aspect ratio dial, which allows you to switch between nine versatile shooting formats, the result of our extensive experience in still film and analogue cameras. This dial provides a tactile and analog experience, making the shooting process more enjoyable by adjusting the aspect ratio to suit the subject or your creative intent.

In addition, the GFX100RF is the first to adopt a precision-machined aluminum top plate. This same meticulous machining extends to components such as the objective ring, dials and bottom plate, enhancing the feel of the metal and offering a unified design that increases the satisfaction of owning it.

In addition, the new 35mm F4 lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) offers a highly versatile field of view, while the new high-speed, high-precision AI-based Subject Detection AF ensures exceptional performance in a variety of shooting scenarios, from casual snapshots to professional reporting.

1. Product Features

1) Outstanding large-format image quality in an incredibly compact body

• With the lightest weight in the history of the GFX series, the GFX100RF weighs approximately 735g. To achieve a significant reduction in size and weight, we developed a new lens and thoroughly revised and optimized the internal structure of the camera body. As a result, despite being a fixed-lens digital camera, it is significantly lighter than the previous lightest model in the GFX series, the GFX50R, which weighs 775g (body only).

• The GFX100RF is equipped with a 102-megapixel large-format sensor "GFX 102MP CMOS II" and the high-speed image processor "X-Processor 5". Thanks to a newly developed lens and advanced colour reproduction technology, it achieves the exceptional image quality that the GFX series is known for. The 'GFX 102MP CMOS II' sensor, with improved pixel structure and microlenses, offers wide dynamic range, low-noise shooting, improved edge quality and enhanced AF accuracy, allowing you to enjoy the extraordinarily high image quality that the GFX Series proudly offers.

2) Features and design that enhance the appeal of large format by combining history and cutting-edge technology.

• For the first time in our digital cameras, the top plate is made from precision-machined aluminum. This meticulous machining extends to the objective ring, dials, bottom plate, and other details, enhancing the texture of the metal and unifying the design. This results in a sophisticated design that enhances the presence of the camera's body and dials, worthy of a premium model.

The camera features our first aspect ratio dial on the top rear. This allows you to easily switch between nine versatile aspect ratios that we've offered for both photos and video formats since our founding. Recently, we added 3:4 and 17:6 aspect ratios. Selecting the aspect ratio that best suits your subject or creative intent makes the experience of shooting in large format even more enjoyable.

We've added a new 3.15-inch, 2.1 million pixel, dual-axis tilt LCD monitor. This new user interface (UI) optimizes the alignment of shooting icons to match the monitor's 3:2 aspect ratio, improving the immersive shooting experience. In addition, a new surround view function has been added, which shows areas outside the frame in semi-transparent or linear format, depending on the aspect ratio. This feature can be easily activated with a lever while looking through the viewfinder, providing an optical viewfinder-like experience, even with an EVF, allowing you to be aware of what's happening outside the frame.

3) The new 35mm F4 prime lens enables compact size and exceptional imaging performance.

• We have developed a new 35mm F4 specific lens for GFX100RF. By adopting a reed shutter mechanism instead of a focal plane shutter and using a fixed lens design, we shortened the rear focus. This created additional space, which we used to optimize the layout of the lens and camera components, significantly reducing the overall size.

• The versatile 35mm focal length (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) is ideal for a wide range of scenes, including landscapes, travel, snapshots and portraits. Its compact size improves mobility and increases shooting flexibility.

• 10-element configuration in 8 groups, including two aspherical lenses, reduces spherical aberration and field curvature, delivering high-resolution performance. A new Nano GI coating, optimized for lenses with significant curvature, suppresses light reflection even at the periphery of the lens. This ensures the exceptional resolution, worthy of the GFX Series.

• You can photograph subjects up to 20 cm away from the lens. Despite being a large format camera, its compact and lightweight design allows you to get close to your subject and enjoy photography with total freedom.

• For the first time in the GFX Series, the camera incorporates a 4-stop ND filter. This is useful for shooting with a large aperture in bright environments or slow shutter speeds.

• The reed shutter allows you to shoot with flash at any shutter speed, providing greater flexibility and expanding creative possibilities, even for outdoor shooting during the day.

4) With high-speed, high-precision autofocus and 4K/30P video capability, the GFX100RF delivers exceptional performance in a wide range of scenarios.

• The GFX100RF features an advanced AF prediction function and face and eye detection AF thanks to an improved algorithm. In addition, AI Subject Detection AF uses deep learning technology to recognize a wide variety of subjects, such as animals, vehicles, birds, and airplanes. For video recording, the tracking AF function has been improved, allowing easy subject tracking with touch operation. Whether for still images or videos, the GFX100RF offers high tracking performance, ensuring a comfortable shooting experience.

• The GFX100RF features 0.84x magnification and a high-resolution 5.76-million-dot electronic viewfinder. By using the viewfinder, blurring and image distortion caused by eye misalignment are minimized, ensuring high visibility. The GFX100RF allows you to record smooth 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video. With a standard ISO setting of 100, it allows for wide dynamic range and low-noise recording. The F-Log2 with more than 13 steps*5 provides rich gradation and great flexibility in post-production.

Compatible with the Frame.io Camera to Cloud service. Videos and images can be uploaded directly to Frame.io, greatly speeding up the workflow from recording to editing.

5) Included accessories that combine practicality with sophisticated design, further enhancing the product's appeal.

• The package includes a 'PRF-49' protective filter. When combined with the specific adapter ring, it ensures a weather-resistant structure. This allows for worry-free use even outdoors in light rain or dust.
