The X-T50 has a compact, lightweight body weighing approximately 438 g, and features the 40.2-megapixel "X-Trans CMOS 5 HR" back-illuminated sensor, the high-speed "X-Processor 5" image processing engine, and an in-body image stabilization function with 5-axis and up to 7.0 stops. It is a versatile model that achieves high image quality, high performance and high mobility. Combined with the new zoom standard lens "FUJINON XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR" announced today, it can be used to take still images in all situations.
In addition, for the first time, a Film Simulation dial is incorporated on the top plate that allows the user to easily switch between "Film Simulations," a key feature unique to the company that allows for a wide variety of color tones. The X-T50 also incorporates a new rounded shape design that achieves both high holding performance and compact size.
The X-T50 is a digital camera that combines ease of shooting with a compact, lightweight body and Film Simulation dial, and exceptional functions that deliver outstanding image quality, providing even more shooting pleasure.
High image quality and performance thanks to the high-performance sensor and high-speed image processing engine.
- The fifth generation of the X series is equipped with the 40.2-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. The latest image processing algorithm delivers high resolution while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio.
- The improved pixel structure allows more light to be captured efficiently, ISO 125 is adopted as the normal sensitivity, which was previously used as the extended sensitivity for cameras. In addition, the electronic shutter can be set to a shutter speed of 1/180000 sec. maximum, giving very precise control of exposure time. Shooting with a large-aperture lens is possible in a wide range of scenes.
- Equipped with AI-based subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology. The camera can now detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects and drones. In addition, the camera is equipped with a more advanced AF prediction algorithm than previous models. This allows a wide range of subjects, including fast-moving cars and animals, to be photographed more comfortably.
- A total of 20 "Film Simulation" modes are available for the X-T50, including "REALA ACE," which combines faithful color reproduction and sharp tonal gradations. You can enjoy a wide variety of color expressions as if you were selecting a photographic film according to the subject or scene.
- The digital teleconverter function takes advantage of the high pixel count of approximately 40.2 megapixels. Images can be enlarged 1.4x and 2x.
Enhanced functions for extending the shooting range.
- The camera is also equipped with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization function with a maximum of 7.0 steps. While maintaining the mobility that has characterized previous models, it enables comfortable hand-held shooting even in dark scenes such as night scenes, greatly expanding the shooting range.
6.2K/30P video recording is possible. AF tracking function during video recording is also available for high quality video recording.
- The camera can shoot in AUTO mode, which detects the scene and automatically selects the optimal shooting settings, simply by operating the AUTO mode switch lever located on the top surface of the body. The camera automatically detects the subject and tracks it while keeping it in focus, making it easy to capture high-quality still images and movies.
Sophisticated product design with the ultimate in functional beauty.
- The round-shaped body design is a new adoption. New grip shape fits comfortably in the hand while maintaining a compact size, resulting in high holding performance.
- The new "film simulation dial" is built into the top plate. This allows users to switch between film simulation modes with intuitive operation according to the subject or scene, enabling them to enjoy different color tones in both still and moving images with ease.
- A pop-up flash integrated with the viewfinder is mounted on the top plate. It automatically controls the amount of light and displays its power in dark scenes and backlit portraits.
- The new model incorporates a 1.84 million-dot tilting rear LCD monitor. In addition, the shape of the grip and the arrangement of the buttons on the back of the camera have been adjusted to enable more comfortable capture of both still and moving images.
FUJI 55-200mm f3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
The image stabilization function allows the use of shutter speeds 4.5 stops slower, preventing camera shake even when shooting handheld in low-light conditions or reducing the aperture. In addition, its design incorporates two linear motors for high-speed autofocusing in 0.28 seconds*1, bringing the subject into focus instantly.
In conjunction with the launch of the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8R LM OIS lens, FUJIFILM will update the firmware of the X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras. Thanks to a new algorithm, the firmware will take full advantage of the lens' capabilities, enabling both cameras to quickly search for contrast AF across the entire focal length range. Focusing speed will be as fast as 0.7 seconds, even when searching from infinity to the minimum distance to the telephoto subject. With the new firmware update, the X-Pro1 and X-E1 will also improve AF speed with the other existing XF lenses. *3
The firmware will be available for download at www.fujifilm.com in the lead up to the release of the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8R LM lens.
*1 Based on CIPA standards
*2 Equivalent to 35mm format.
*3 Firmware upgrade will be required for all XF lenses except the XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS. Lens firmware will be available from July 2013.
