Not only does it offer you the convenience of a vertical shutter release, but it has the added benefit of AE/FE Lock, AF Point Selection Zoom Button and Exposure Compensation Aperture. There is an easy to use, connect/disconnect mechanism. The handle also provides extra weight to the camera which gives you more to hold onto. It works well two optional LP-E6 lithium batteries or six optional "AA" batteries.
