Hasselblad X2D + 45mm

Following the resounding success of the X1D-50c and its upgrade with the X1D II 50C, the powerful new X2D 100C Hasselblad introduced, along with three new XCD series lenses, the XCD 2.5/38V, XCD 2.5/55V and XCD 2.5/90V that offer an unrivalled experience for content creators.

Hasselblad's new generation of medium-format mirrorless camera, the X2D 100C, was designed to bring substantial technological innovations to image quality, camera handling and operating system response speed. Designed in a lead-colored machined aluminum body, the X2D 100C features a built-in 100-megapixel back-illuminated (BSI) (43.8 × 32.9mm) CMOS sensor and features a dynamic range of 15 stops with about 16-bit color depth. The X2D 100C enables a creative experience that wasn't available before. It empowers content creators to capture the ins and outs of highlights and shadows, leveraging color management Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS).

Handheld photography is possible in a wide variety of conditions thanks to the new 5-axis 7-stop camera body-built stabilization system. Hasselblad has developed its own image stabilizer exclusively for the X2D 100C to meet the specific needs of stabilizing a 100MP sensor. When designing the camera, keeping both weight and size to a minimum was kept in mind for easy portability, which is why the X2D 100C contains the most compact IBIS medium format solution on the market.

The X2D 100C features a 0.5" electronic viewfinder (EVF) with 5.76 mio. pixel display that is capable of 1.00x magnification with a 60fps refresh rate to ensure that the screen looks bright and sharp from corner to corner.

In addition, it has a 1.08" color top screen and a 3.6" 2.36MP touchscreen and tilting rear screen that allows access to all parameters, while maintaining the Hasselblad user interface (HUI) and the Scandinavian, elegant and simple style, original to the X system. The battery has a CIPA rating of up to 420 shots and supports PD 3.0 fast charging. To all this it is important to mention that the X2D 100C is compatible with Phocus, Hasselblad's free image processing software.

"When we were developing the X2D 100C, our goal has been the same as always, as Victor Hasselblad himself put it decades ago: 'build a better camera,'" says Bronius Rudnickas, marketing director at Hasselblad. This commitment leads us to explore how to improve its performance in all aspects"

The new Hasselblad 45mm f4 (XCD 4/45P) lens, designed to expand the possibilities of all X* System cameras and bring high image quality to discover the world beyond known limits. Maximum portability with the lightest and most compact lens in the XCD lens family With a weight of just 320g and a length of 47mm, the XCD 45P is the lightest medium format digital lens on the market.

The XCD 45P's design concept makes it possible to bring high-quality optics to any adventure, from travel photography through deserts and mountains to urban exploration and documentary. With minimal weight and maximum image quality, the XCD 45P, along with the X1D II and Phocus Mobile 2, allows creatives to go further in their vision, and with a much lighter rig that facilitates workflow and enables agility.

"We are very proud to have been able to manufacture a lens with such high optical performance as the rest of our XCD lenses in such a compact format," said Per Nordlund, the lead optical designer at Hasselblad.

The XCD 45P features an optical design that incorporates two aspherical elements, resulting in cutting-edge optical performance in compact dimensions. The XCD 45P has used the latest designs in technology such as the autofocus motor and the central shutter, where the noise of the shot has been significantly reduced. Photographers will find that the new XCD 45P center shutter is quieter than most mechanical focal plane shutters.

With a minimum focusing distance of 35cm and a maximum image scale of 1:5.2, the XCD 45P is ideal even in still life photography. Its mechanically attached focus ring allows for responsive and precise manual focusing, and its built-in center shutter allows flash synchronization up to 1/2000. Like the other XCD lenses, the XCD 45P has an excellent design, ultra-high build quality, unrivalled optical performance and an unmistakably Hasselblad balance in manual use.
