Continuing FUJIFILM's series of portable compact cousins, the 16mm black XF f/2.8 R WR is an equivalent 24mm wide-angle lens, well suited for landscapes, nature and architectural photography. Its maximum aperture of f/2.8 balances size and speed, and is suitable for working in the available lighting conditions, while limiting the overall size and weight of the lens for everyday use. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations to produce greater sharpness and accurate representation. A Super EBC coating is also used to control brightness and ghosting to improve contrast and color fidelity when working in bright, backlit light conditions. To complement the optics, there is a stepper motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides fast and especially quiet focusing performance. In addition, the lens is sealed against the weather to adapt to work in inclement conditions.
