Combining a short telephoto field of view with a sleek design and close-focus performance, the RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is a complete lens for a variety of subjects, from portraits to macro subjects. Its close-focus design allows you to work with subjects at a distance of up to 1.15' with a maximum magnification of 1:2 and the STM stepper motor offers impressively quiet and smooth autofocus performance and overrides manual focus full-time. To help create sharp images, the lens also features optical image stabilization, along with Hybrid IS, to suppress up to five stops of camera shake for cleaner, more stable shots. A UD (Ultra low Dispersion) element is also used in the optical design to minimize aberrations and ensure clarity. In addition, a configurable control ring allows you to adjust exposure settings, including ISO, aperture and exposure compensation, from the lens itself.
