The V-160HD is the new benchmark in hybrid event switching thanks to a complete set of advanced features to cover any modern production. It connects to live audiences in Full HD with a complete system of SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, and simultaneously streams to web platforms via USB-C. There's also an eight-layer video effects processor, 40-channel digital audio mixer and integrated PTZ camera control, as well as next-generation input management and live show automation to simplify the most complex productions. All this comes condensed into a portable design with a broadcast studio interface that a single operator can easily handle.

• Hybrid to the max

The V-160HD combines the robust hardware needed to run live productions seamlessly with the livestreaming capabilities of computer-based systems. While software-based video systems work well for online-only events, the V-160HD gives you the essential professional-grade features you need for both the in-person and broadcast sides of a live hybrid event, and allows you to tailor content to each audience.

On-demand signal processing avoids any problems with CPU overload, latency and output lag on live audience displays.

Integrated connectivity standards such as SDI, HDMI, XLR and USB-C eliminate the need to set up expensive infrastructure and run conversion processes.

The comprehensive interface offers manual control that a single operator can quickly learn.

Presets, macros and advanced sequencing functions let you set up and automate complex mixes with a touch.

• HDMI and SDI connections

The V-160HD supports HDMI for standard A/V devices, plus SDI for long cable runs and high-end cameras. It seamlessly mixes eight HDMI and eight SDI sources in Full HD, even with different frame rates and color spaces. And with built-in scalers on four of the HDMI inputs, you can easily interface with client sources such as computers, tablets, smartphones, game consoles and legacy 4:3 devices.

• Send to multiple destinations

With seven freely assignable outputs - three SDI, three HDMI and USB-C streaming - the V-160HD gives you a high-end video matrix. Distribute signal to program displays, auxiliary monitors, multiview producer screens and online audiences, all at once and with a "clean" output free for recording.

Instant activation

One push of a few buttons on the V-160HD is all it takes to store and activate custom settings.

The 30 preset memories and a powerful effects processor combine to provide seamless scene switching, and even the transition of all compositing layers is synchronized with the program output.

The 100 macros go even further and allow you to create and trigger complex action lists including switching, DSK on/off, audio mix settings, PTZ camera movements and much more.

Our remote control software for macOS, Windows and iPad further enhances this process, with a great graphical interface for configuring and previewing actions before taking them to live production.

• One-touch automation

With the V-160HD's new sequencer, presets and macros are even more powerful, so a single operator can execute perfectly timed inputs with ease. You can record up to 1,000 steps in the sequencer, and each step can include presets and macros. It's as easy as setting up the inputs in advance in the list and activating them with the Next button on the panel. The power of the V-160HD's sequencer lets you tackle the most complex events without breaking a sweat.

• Powerful video effects generator and flexible output routings

Video effects and graphics are essential for enhancing the quality and appeal of any production. The V-160HD's effects processor includes eight compositing layers that can be assigned to Program, Sub-Program and three Aux outputs to dazzle audiences with visually interesting content. With up to four Picture-in-Picture windows, DSK layers, 16 transparent PNG-compatible still image buffers and more, you can meet any client's creative needs. For example:

Layers 1-2: Start with a background video layer in blendable video.

Layers 3-6: Add four layers of Picture-in-Picture or chroma/luma effects.

Layers 7-8: Add two DSK compatible fill and keying inputs.

• Live streaming

The V-160HD uses the same connection technology as webcams,* allowing you to stream events at 23.98 and 60 FPS in Full HD** to reach a worldwide audience. Just plug the USB-C output into a computer and start streaming with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube, Facebook Live or any platform that uses a webcam as its source. Everything works straight out of the box, no drivers to install.

• Great compatibility with PTZ cameras

Robotic PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom-zoom) cameras greatly expand production options. They offer enhanced coverage with studio broadcast quality and can be placed in unobtrusive locations thanks to their compact size. The V-160HD offers support for direct control of a selection of PTZ cameras over LAN from Canon, JVC, PANASONIC, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic and VISCA. Combine different brands as desired and operate up to 16 PTZ cameras simultaneously. With the new version 3.0, you can even set angles and save/recall presets with a USB numeric keypad.
