With the VR-120HD AV live streaming mixer, a single operator can seamlessly manage hybrid online and live productions without external equipment or additional personnel. This powerful handheld device offers full audio and video inputs and outputs, a large touch screen and manual controls, so you have all the tools you need to get any mid-level production off the ground. The advanced audiovisual features of Roland simplify complex tasks with customizable workflows, sophisticated automation features, remote PTZ camera control, one-touch macro sequencing, LAN and USB streaming, and much more. The VR-120HD's flexible video features allow you to respond to diverse event presentation needs as they arise. Assign sources to eight crossover points on the fly, including live video inputs, still images and video clips. Prioritize cameras and computer sources with scene triggering. And create tailored outputs for live and online viewers by assigning compositing layers to multiple buses as needed.

• HDMI and SDI inputs

The VR-120HD supports HDMI for standard AV devices, plus SDI for long cable runs and high-end cameras. It seamlessly combines six HDMI and six SDI sources in Full HD with a wide range of TV and cinema frame rates and color spaces. All HDMI inputs include integrated EDID and HDCP compliant scalers, avoiding connection issues with client sources such as computers, tablets, smartphones, game consoles and legacy 4:3 devices.

Enhance events with integrated support for still image and video playback. Activate still images during presenter changes, display graphics during breaks, and use PNG files to create dynamic lower thirds. The integrated video player lets you trigger video clips directly from the SDXC card, without the need to connect an external playback device.

• Layers and Keyers

Video effects and graphics are essential for enhancing the quality and appeal of productions. The VR-120HD's effects processor includes eight compositing layers that can be assigned to the Program, Sub-Program and Aux outputs to dazzle audiences with visually interesting content. With up to four Picture-in-Picture windows and transparent PNG and external key compatible DSK layers, you can meet any client's creative needs. For example:

Layers 1-2: Start with blendable live background video layers.

Layers 3-6: Add four layers of Picture-in-Picture or chroma/luma effects.

Layers 7-8: Add two DSK compatible fill and keying inputs.

• Multi-channel digital and analog audio inputs

The VR-120HD includes six balanced audio inputs with XLR and 1/4" combo jacks, high-quality mic preamps and phantom power. There are four RCA inputs for standard line devices, plus you can mix embedded digital audio from the HDMI, SDI and USB inputs. And the Bluetooth connection allows audio playback from a mobile device.

• Secure and reliable LAN streaming

With the VR-120HD's powerful LAN streaming capabilities, you can connect directly to Twitch, Facebook and other platforms without using a computer. The unique Adaptive Bitrate feature monitors the quality of the network connection and automatically adjusts the streaming rate to reduce interruptions due to bandwidth issues. And you also get adjustable Safety Delay, which allows you to smoothly stream unscripted events and avoid broadcasting offensive content.

• SDXC card recording

The VR-120HD's built-in recorder allows you to easily record an event to an SDXC card and provide the client with an H.264 MP4 video file for their editing and distribution needs. In addition, stereo WAV audio can be recorded independently for podcasts and other audio content. Still images can even be captured to internal memory from any video output bus and saved to the card for later use.

* The recording bit rate is the same as the encoding bit rate of the live broadcast.

• Streaming via USB-C at up to 60 FPS

Broadcast to any audience in Full HD via a computer over USB. The USB-C connection offers the same plug-and-play technology as webcams,* so you can start streaming immediately with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any platform that can use a webcam as a source.

* Compliant with USB video (UVC) and USB audio (UAC). Compatible with YUY2 (uncompressed) and Motion JPEG (compressed) formats.

• Dual-destination LAN streaming

Reach a wider audience by transmitting to two different livestreaming channels at the same time, or use the second channel to capture a real-time backup. You can even use a cell phone with a 4G or 5G data plan as a primary or redundant backup streaming connection.

• Powerful mixing tools

Set up direct control for your most important sound cues with eight assignable faders. And when you need to work with multiple presenters, activate Auto Mixing to let go of ballast and make sure the mix between microphones stays well balanced. You can set it to give priority to certain inputs, so that other levels automatically drop when the presenter is speaking.

• A mix for every audience

Two auxiliary audio busses allow you to set up unique mixes for different applications. For example, you can send a signal to a monitor system for the performers on stage, and output a special mix independent of the program used for the live audience. Versatile routing allows you to freely assign the mix and auxiliary buses to the two stereo XLR outputs, the stereo RCA output, the streaming/recording and USB outputs, or the HDMI or SDI outputs.

• Profine your sound

The VR-120HD combines all the power of the latest digital audio consoles with full effects Roland. EQ and dynamics processing is included for each input and output, and there's high-quality reverb for music applications and special effects. You also get specialized tools to solve audio problems quickly, such as automatic antifeedback for stage mics and adaptive noise reduction to suppress hum and background noise.

• Audio on demand

With the VR-120HD's unique Audio Player section and eight assignable pads, it's easy to enhance events with custom sounds. With a quick press, you can trigger sound effects, event announcements, e-sports countdowns, or tunes when presenters take the stage. Anything you can imagine.

• Quick activation of complex compositions

Just press a few buttons to store and activate custom presets. The 32 preset memories and an advanced effects processor combine to provide seamless changes, and even the transition of all composition layers is synchronized with the program's output. The 100 macros go even further and allow you to create and execute complex action lists including switching, DSK on/off, audio mix settings, PTZ camera movements and much more.

• The magic of sequencing

With the VR-120HD's sequencer, presets and macros are even more powerful and allow you to easily execute inputs with perfect timing. Up to 1,000 steps can be recorded in the sequencer, and each step can include presets and macros. Set up inputs in advance in the list and trigger them in order for effortless, flawless productions.

• Automated switching and mixing

When you have many presenters on stage, you need to follow the action and switch audio and video at the same time. The VR-120HD's audio and video switching automation features simplify this complex task. So your workload is greatly reduced, and the audience enjoys a seamless experience
