V-80HD RCS for macOS and Windows

Using the V-80HD RCS app for macOS and Windows, you can control virtually all functions of the V-80HD remotely from your computer via USB, RS-232, wired LAN or wireless LAN (Wi-Fi). The V-80HD RCS can also run as your USB streaming software, allowing you to manage all audio and video switching from your computer screen, including some operations that are not available from the V-80HD panel.

Professional mixing for live events, web streaming and studio production

The compact and powerful V-80HD covers professional video needs for live events, livestreaming, studio productions and other applications. The all-in-one design is easy to transport and set up, while flexible connections support 3G SDI, HDMI, USB 3.0 and LAN (RTMP/SRT) equipment. The V-80HD also includes multichannel audio mixing and effects, integrated control for PTZ cameras, and remote operation with video monitoring via dedicated control apps. And with the companion Graphics Presenter software, you can easily enhance your productions with impressive titles, motion graphics and more.

Multiple video inputs

The V-80HD includes versatile inputs with HDMI for standard AV devices, plus SDI for long cable runs and high-end cameras. In total there are eight channels, offering seamless switching for up to four HDMI and four SDI input sources. Included are two 4K HDMI inputs with scaling reducers and the ability to send parallel connections to game consoles at eSports events. In addition, an SRT input can be assigned to a crossover point button along with an SDI and HDMI input.

Versatile video outputs and flexible routing

With multiple assignable outputs, two SDI and three HDMI video outputs, one streaming output via USB-C and one LAN (RTMP/SRT), the V-80HD gives you a high-end video matrix. Each output can be assigned to 10 buses, allowing you to send signal to program displays, auxiliary monitors, multiview producer displays and online audiences all at the same time.

Powerful video effects generator

The V-80HD comes packed with tools to enhance presentations with stunning video graphics and effects. The built-in effects generator includes five compositing layers with a split-screen effect, two PinP windows with keying compositing, and a DSK that supports composite fill/embedding signal. You can easily create common layouts, such as a company presentation with a single speaker, image slides and a title on a background. PinP and DSK layers can be managed separately in Program, Sub-Program and two Aux outputs, so you have flexible tools for all kinds of productions.

Professional graphics made easy

The Graphics Presenter software for Windows lets you create spectacular titles and graphics, dispensing with expensive third-party graphics presentation solutions. Setting up the V-80HD is quick and easy, with a single HDMI connection to send fill and keying signals from the computer to the mixer.

Graphics Presenter includes an intuitive process with a wide selection of ready-to-edit templates with animated title text, sports scoreboards, animated graphics and more. The software and templates are free, and downloadable content is posted periodically on Roland Cloud.

Direct Streaming

The V-80HD uses the same connection technology as the webcams, so it offers a setup-free streaming experience. Just connect the USB-C output to a computer or smartphone and start streaming with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any platform that uses a webcam as its source. LAN connection is also supported, allowing you to stream directly to YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch or any RTMP platform without a computer.

Secure audio-visual streaming with SRT

The V-80HD supports SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), an open source standard for AVoIP that provides secure encrypted audio and video transmission over IP networks. It also offers sophisticated connectivity in installed system configurations. SRT allows you to seamlessly expand your production capabilities with the V-80HD over a LAN or Internet connection. Access camera images from remote locations and switch them along with local HDMI and SDI sources. And send specific SRT video output to an external destination, such as another building in a production facility.

SDXC card recording

The V-80HD's built-in recorder allows you to easily record an event to an SDXC card and provide the client with an H.264* MP4 video file for their editing and distribution needs. In addition, stereo WAV audio can be recorded independently for podcasts and other audio content. Still images can even be captured to internal memory from any video output bus and saved to the card for later use.

PTZ camera support

Robotic PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom-zoom) cameras greatly expand production options by providing greater coverage in studio quality. And thanks to their compact form factor, they can be placed in discreet locations where larger cameras are impractical.

The V-80HD offers integrated control for a selection of PTZ cameras over LAN from Canon, JVC, PANASONIC, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic and VISCA. It combines different brands and operates up to eight PTZ cameras simultaneously. The V-80HD Remote app for iPad is the ideal complement to PTZ operation, allowing remote camera control and video monitoring from the tablet.

Fast processing with scenes and macros

A few button presses on the V-80HD are all it takes to store and activate custom settings. The 32 scene memories and a powerful effects generator combine to provide seamless scene switching, and even the transition of all compositing layers is synchronized with the program output. The 100 macros go even further and allow you to create and trigger complex action lists including switching, DSK on/off, audio mix settings, PTZ camera movements and much more.

Our remote control software for macOS, Windows and iPad further enhances this process, with a great graphical interface for configuring and previewing actions before taking them to live production.

The magic of sequencing

With the V-80HD's sequencer, scenes and macros are even more powerful, so a single operator can execute perfectly timed inputs with ease. You can record up to 1,000 steps, and each step includes both scenes and macros. Optimize your productions by setting inputs in advance in the list and activating them with the Next button on the panel

Professional-quality audio mixing and effects

The V-80HD includes 28 channels of audio mixing and a wide selection of processing tools, I/O routing options, and automation features. It boosts sounds with preconfigured effects, including excellent vocal processing and a useful Loudness Auto Gain Control function for managing live levels. The built-in Audio Player makes it easy to integrate music and sound effects into any production. Three output busses are included to cover complex routing for event streaming and studio recording.

Customizable control pads

Eight assignable pads give you quick control of numerous V-80HD functions. The pads are organized into eight banks and give direct access to 64 different operations. Activate scenes, macros and sequencer steps, trigger audio and video clips, start/stop streams and more. You can even control Graphics Presenter software functions when the host computer is connected to the V-80HD via USB.

Advanced remote control options

The V-80HD supports extended workflows with specific apps and various remote devices.

The free V-80HD Remote app for iPad connects wirelessly, allowing you to operate functions at events via a portable touch interface.

Use the free V-80HD Remote Control Software to operate the mixer from a Mac or Windows computer.

Connect a USB numeric keypad to control video transitions and other functions.

Connect footswitches or expression pedals to execute over 100 different switcher commands.

Start and stop selected third-party recorders over HDMI.

Seamlessly integrate into system installations with TALLY/GPIO RS-232 and DB-sub connectors.

V-80HD iPad Remote Control Utility

The V-80HD Remote app turns the iPad into an efficient touch interface for the V-80HD, with versatile connectivity via USB, Bluetooth or a wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) connection. Control essential switching functions, mix audio with virtual faders, quickly modify settings and parameters, and create scenes for efficient and fast setup changes. You can also monitor video and control switching functions from the app, with the latest iPad models and a USB connection
