Thypoch's debut lenses, the Simera 28mm and 35mm f/1.4, originally launched in 2023, were notable for their combination of retro aesthetics and modern optical engineering. Now, the Simera 28mm and 35mm ASPH Type II series incorporates a crescent-shaped focusing ring, enhancing the user experience.
Designed for Leica M, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X and Canon RF mounts, these new versions replace the infinity locking mechanism with an ergonomic focusing ring, allowing smooth and precise focusing with a single finger.
The Simera series is one of the few M-mount lenses to integrate a floating group design, ensuring consistent performance from infinity to the minimum focusing distance. With the new focusing ring, these lenses resemble the recent Leica Summilux 28mm and 35mm models, offering precise control and exceptional optical quality.
what changes in this new version?
The main difference between the two versions lies in the focusing mechanism:
Type I (Infinity Lock Version): Designed for greater stability, it prevents lens rotation during installation, ensuring safe handling.
Type II (Focusing ring version): Ergonomic design facilitates a comfortable grip and allows smooth focusing with a single finger.
Note: The Simera 28mm ASPH Type II features a slight refinement at the rear, making it slimmer and giving it a more streamlined design.
Outstanding features:
14-blade diaphragm for smooth bokeh and beautiful star effects.
Minimum focusing distance of 0.4m / 0.45m.
Floating element design that maintains consistent quality from infinity to close focusing distance.
Depth-of-field scale with red dot inspired by 1950s designs.
Sun" and "Moon" aperture markers for quick switching between click and non-click modes, ideal for photography and video.
Resistance point at 0.7m for easy transition between topical viewfinder and EVF.
