Professional quality but affordable lights, easy to operate and configure, with power outputs ranging from 100 to 500 watts and significantly smaller in size and weight than other models of similar performance. This is the letter of introduction of the new range of B Series spotlights that Zhiyun unveiled this weekend at the NAB show in Las Vegas.

The new Molus B100, B200, B300 and B500 have powers of 100, 200, 300 and 500 watts, respectively, and with a Bowens mount to be able to use a multitude of diffusers, including those of the Asian brand itself.

They offer high light output, with CRI and TLCI values of ≥96 and ≥95 on the Molus B100 and B200, and ≥95 and ≥97 on the Molus B300 and B500. The intensity ranges from 4,160 lux (20,600 with the parabola included) of the Molus B100 to 19,200 lux (76,400 without parabola) of the Molus B500.

All models in the B Series range redefine thermal efficiency with their V-type DynaVort MK cooling system, which features two pressure sensors to suppress turbulence and optimize airflow, offering vastly improved heat dissipation in a smaller body.

As a result, these COB chip lights have only half to a fifth of the volume of other equivalent bulbs, as well as 70% of their weight. More specifically, they weigh between 1.27 and 2.8 kilos, depending on the model, and have a volume of 2.85 to 5.9 liters. Zhiyun compares these values with those of other similar models from the competition, which range between 1.8 and 4.2 kilos and 5.25 and 14 liters, approximately.

It should also be noted that the new B Series spotlights have an integrated power supply and do not require cumbersome external adapters. A single AC cable connected to the power outlet is enough to be able to use them.

Easy to use

Brightness and colour temperature control (from 2,700 to 6,500 degrees Kelvin) is done from two dials on either side of the spotlight, with a scale from 0 to 100 that can be reduced to just five steps with one press.

In addition to the physical controls, the new B Series can be operated - like the rest of the lights in the Zhiyun ecosystem - through the ZY Vega mobile application, thus being possible to control them remotely individually or together. Finally, the new K1 remote control has Zhiyun created for these lights, which can be purchased separately and has a range of two meters.
