The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS II (white box) Canon lens is a standard zoom lens that features the smallest image circle size, designed exclusively for Canon cameras using the APS-C size sensor. The focal length is equivalent to 29-88mm in the 35mm format. It is a very versatile lens for everyday use and can be focused from as low as 9.8".
This lens features Canon's Optical Image Stabilization technology, which offers up to 4 stops of compensation for blurry images caused by camera shake and slow shutter speed. This ensures clear and crisp images, even in low light.
An aspherical lens element minimizes aberrations and allows for a high overall level of performance and results in a pleasant circular aperture in the background blur.
- It uses optics designed to make the most of the small image circle and re-short focus on EF-S lenses.
- Optical image stabilization compensates for camera shake by up to 4 stops for images without blurry images, even in low-light situations.
