Positioned as a workhorse lens among SONY's E-mount full-frame mirrorless systems, the SIGMA 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art is a versatile wide-angle zoom at vertical length characterized by its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. The bright design adapts to working in available lighting conditions and also allows greater control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates a number of low-dispersion and aspherical elements that greatly reduce a variety of aberrations in order to achieve high sharpness, greater clarity, and improved color accuracy. Both Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous Coatings have also been applied to improve contrast and color rendering by suppressing lens flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions.

Complementing the optical attributes, this lens also features a stepper AF motor, which produces fast, accurate and remarkably quiet autofocus performance. At the wide end of the zoom range, a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9 is suitable for working with close-up subjects and an 11-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasant bokeh quality. In addition, a climate-sealed design benefits working in harsh environmental conditions.
