URSA 12K Camera | blackmagic URSA

The URSA Cine Blackmagic is a revolutionary digital film camera with state-of-the-art technology that integrates into post-production dynamics seamlessly. For this reason, it's the first camera with built-in, high-capacity storage, and the ability to connect to networks for on-set media synchronization. It includes a full-frame RGBW 6K sensor (36 x 24mm) with larger photodiodes that offer incredible dynamic range, and interchangeable mounts for PL, LPL, EF and HASSELBLAD lenses. It also has wireless connectivity for the transmission of content using the SRT protocol, which makes it easier for the client to review the images remotely. In turn, the Lemo and Fischer connections make it the ideal unit for high-end film productions.

Large Cinema Sensor

The URSA Cine Blackmagic model features a new sensor designed to capture images of extraordinary quality in all types of resolutions, from 4K to 12K. This is based on the same technology as the URSA Mini Pro 12K version, with larger photodiodes offering a dynamic range of 16 stops. The unique RGBW architecture provides an equal amount of red, green, and blue pixels, so the camera has been optimized to deliver vivid colors at all resolutions, as well as exceptional flexibility and image quality. It's now possible to capture much more detail with a wider dynamic range. In addition, the built-in resizing function allows you to record in different resolutions without cropping the image.

The camera also includes a 5-inch drop-down screen for reviewing shots and accessing different settings, as well as a help center on the other side of the unit, with a 5-inch LCD screen and additional controls. The Lemo and Fischer connectors allow the camera to be operated remotely, while supplying power to the lens and other accessories. This model also has a 12G-SDI output, a 10G Ethernet port, and an XLR audio input.

Flexibility with large formats

The large sensor in the URSA Cine Blackmagic model provides unprecedented flexibility in terms of aspect ratios, lenses, and delivery formats. By using the entire sensor, an image is captured with a 3:2 aspect ratio, allowing shots to be reframed during post-production. Alternatively, it is possible to take advantage of the size of the sensor to record content in anamorphic format and deliver it in a wide variety of aspect ratios with crop factors of 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.66, 1.8 and 2x. In addition, the camera allows you to shoot in 4K, 8K or 12K without image cropping, so that you can maintain the full field of view with the lens. It even offers 2, 3 or 4 punch-hole modes in Super 35 9K format, providing compatibility with classic cinematic lenses. This allows for outstanding images with exceptional quality.

Interchangeable mount

Different projects require different types of goals. For this reason, the URSA Cine Blackmagic model has an interchangeable mount for PL, LPL, EF and HASSELBLAD lenses. As a result, the user has the opportunity to use lenses used in the field of photography or cinematography. This feature makes the unit compatible with a wide variety of professional lenses. Capturing images in Blackmagic RAW

Blackmagic RAW is an innovative format designed to record all the information captured by the sensor and maintain quality. In addition, it stores camera and lens metadata, as well as white balance, digital clapperboard information, and custom conversion tables, to ensure image consistency during on-set shooting and post-production. Consistent quality options maintain the level of quality, allowing the degree of compression to be tailored to match the details of the scene. On the other hand, constant speed modes provide the best possible image quality in files whose size is consistent. The URSA Cine Blackmagic records to the included 8TB Blackmagic Media Module storage drive, allowing you to shoot up to 4 hours Blackmagic of RAW clips in 12K resolution or 20 hours in 4K.

Built-in optical low-pass filters

The high frequencies of synthetic materials such as fabrics or LED arrays on audiovisual surfaces can cause problems when using modern high-precision lenses and sensors with higher resolutions, generating interference patterns. Optical low-pass filters can minimize this effect and reduce moiré patterns and edge fading. The URSA Cine Blackmagic features a professional-quality optical low-pass filter that perfectly complements the sensor. It also features a modern infrared filter that improves response to far-red wavefrequencies while preserving image color and detail when processing content in Blackmagic RAW format, enabling new levels of fidelity.

Built-in ND filters

The URSA Cine Blackmagic includes neutral density filters that allow you to reduce the amount of light entering the camera. These 2-, 4- and 6-stop filters have been specifically designed in combination with the unit's colorimetry to provide extra latitude, even in harsh lighting conditions. On the other hand, they filter the wavelengths of the visible spectrum and infrared in a uniform way in order to avoid contamination of the images by the infrared. In addition, they have a precise mechanism that quickly places them in the correct position when turning the dial. In turn, the settings are indicated on the camera screen by a fraction, a number, or the reduction in steps.

Full resolution at high frame rates

The URSA Cine Blackmagic model is like multiple cameras in one, allowing you to shoot at common resolutions and frame rates in 4K, 8K, Super 35, 9K, and even 12K, with unprecedented detail, or shoot at up to 100 fps in 12K (17:9, 12,288 x 6480) or 120 fps in 12K (2.4:1). For higher frame rates, you can use a resolution of 8192 x 5360 at up to 144 fps or 8192 x 3408 at 180 fps, and even record in 8K 2.4:1 (8192 x 3408) definition at 224 fps. The frame rate and resolution options in this model provide unparalleled flexibility to deliver better material rendering, with sharper edges in 8K and 4K, even at lower frequencies. In addition, it offers the opportunity to capture 100 megapixels per frame images at 80 fps in Blackmagic RAW format, making it ideal for taking perfect photos and recording moving objects.
