Focusing on the founding principles of photography, the LEICA MA (type 127) is a 35 mm film rangefinder camera that is characterized by its simplicity and scarce presence. As a fully mechanical camera, the battery is not required for operation and the only exposure control offered is a shutter speed option, up to 1/1000 sec. At large bright pairs, 0.72x magnification viewfinder with a precise rangefinder mechanism to allow manual comparative focus control with M-mount lenses, along with corrected parallax compositional elaboration. The body features silver chrome-plated brass superior and lower covers, as well as an all-metal body design, to offer durability, as well as an aesthetic, minimal appearance. Designed for intuition and efficient operability, the precision offered by the MA serves to complement a direct working method.

Classic 35mm film rangefinder has a spacious and bright 0.72x magnification viewfinder.
Fully mechanical operation does not require battery and allows to work only with the basics of photography: shutter speed, aperture and film speed.
A rear ISO dial can be used to indicate the speed of the film in use.
The maximum shutter speed dial allows the selection of speeds from 1/1000 sec to 1 sec., with a bulb adjustment also available for long exposures. Flash synchronization is available at all speeds up to 1/50 sec.
The hot shoe incorporates a central contact for compatibility with a wide range of flashes.
Compatible with all M-mount lenses ranging in focal lengths from 16mm to 135mm.
Image field frame lines are automatically activated with each lens mounted, and offer an accurate, corrected parallax reference for image composition. Alternatively, the lines of the image field can be selected to preview the composition of other focal length lenses.
