DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel

Advanced panel with precise controls to create cinematic images. It includes different color grading options, such as the ability to add Power Windows. Connection via Bluetooth or USB-C port.

DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel

Portable panel with three high-resolution dials, display for menu access, 12 knobs for primary corrections, and buttons for selecting tools, adding nodes, and making secondary color adjustments.

DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel

Designed in collaboration with professional Hollywood colorists, this panel includes a variety of controls to access all the color features DaVinci has to offer.

Professional color adjustment dials

Spheres allow you to adjust the colors in an image based on the tonal ranges of highlights, shadows, and tones in between. Unlike the mouse and keyboard, it is possible to use multiple spheres at the same time for the purpose of creating unique effects. The sliding rings that surround them allow for overall levels and dynamic contrast. On the other hand, the keys above each dial allow you to reset the color adjustment, the level adjustment, or both. A three-key cluster on the superior of the DaVinci Resolve Mini and Micro Color Panel models provides the ability to toggle between primary and logarithmic circles, activate temperature, tint, and offset controls, and enable full-screen viewer output. The DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel features a fourth watch face that allows you to adjust the entire image.

Primary Settings Controls

Primary adjustment controls address the luminance and chrominance of the entire image using a variety of unique tools that focus on specific hue ranges and tones. These features represent the most common settings required to produce dynamic images, making them a popular choice for photo, graphic design, and color grading professionals working on tight deadlines. DaVinci Resolve Micro Color and Mini Panel include twelve settings that allow you to quickly adjust contrast, saturation, hue, temperature, tint, midtone details, and color enhancement, as well as shadows and highlights. All rotary knobs can be pressed to reset settings, so it's easy to try out new looks.

Luminance of highlights, shadows, and in-betweens

Dedicated knobs for highlights, shadows, and intermediate tones, sometimes known as "gain," "lift," and "gamma," respectively, allow you to adjust the luminance, or brightness, of each specific area in a tonal range of the image. Thanks to these controls, it is possible to modify the brightness without affecting the chromatic saturation.

Contrast & Pivot

Contrast is used to change the tonal difference between the light and dark parts of an image. The pivot adjusts the contrast balance, which can affect your tonal ranges. Once the contrast is set, use the pivot to polish the center of the hue, lightening or darkening the image while retaining the contrast values.

Details of the middle tones

Increasing or decreasing the details of the midtones changes the contrast at the edges within an image. This modifies the perception of sharpness and definition. It can be used to accentuate the beard on an actor's face, enhance the sharpness of a scene, or subtly blur the skin for facial touch-ups.

Color Enhancement

This control allows you to intelligently adjust low-saturation areas in an image while also not affecting high-saturation areas. This results in a more subtle and natural increase in color. Occasionally referred to as "vibrance," this parameter is ideal for highlighting colors without oversaturating the entire image.

Shadows and Lights

This rotary knob allows you to lighten and darken details in shadows or recover overexposed areas in images with high dynamic range. This parameter does not affect the intermediate tones, which provides the possibility of achieving a more attenuated and natural result between the recovered parts of the image and those not modified.

Saturation

This knob allows you to adjust the overall saturation of the image. The higher the values, the more intense the colors, while at a lower value, the color decreases. Even if its value is zero, a grayscale image would be achieved. By combining this setting with contrast and pivot, it is possible to produce a black and white image.

Nuance

This control allows you to modify the hues of a selected image or area by walking around the perimeter of the color wheel. The default value is 50, which preserves the original hue distribution. By using this parameter with secondary selections, you can quickly adjust specific ranges of hue, for example, the blue of the sky or the green of the trees.

Luminance Mixing

This control gives you the ability to change the balance between color settings and luminance, or just luminance. Using the Y-channel's highlights, shadows, and midtone controls, a luminance mix of 100 allows you to change color regardless of brightness, which is ideal for achieving color balance in your images.

Quick tool change

DaVinci Resolve's Color module includes dozens of color grading tools, effects, and techniques within different panels. In this way, the program presents a wide variety of features that adapt to different work dynamics while ensuring an organized and easy-to-use interface. DaVinci Resolve Mini and Advanced Panel models include dedicated buttons to access these tools, so you don't have to switch between your mouse and the physical panel. With the push of a button, you can access the RAW settings panel, primary correction circles, custom curves, the color-specific panel, Power Windows, tracking, and more.

Custom Curves & HSL

These can be used to make extremely precise adjustments to the luminance and chrominance of the image. Simply isolate the color channels using the buttons above the screens and turn the knobs to change the luminance in 20% increments. Use the keys on the screens to access the various hue, saturation, and luminance (HSL) curves.

Specific Colors

These tools allow you to isolate a portion of the image based on a combination of hue, saturation, or luminance ranges. Press the corresponding button, then choose a mode and make a mask selection. The next step is to use the primary correction tools to make adjustments to the given area.

Tracking

These controls allow you to analyze a moving object within a scene, so that it can be tracked. For example, you can trace a Power Window with a Bezier curve over a vehicle and then track it during the shot. Once this is done, any primary corrections that are added to the vignette are only applied to that car.

Capture storage

This option allows you to save color corrections to the gallery, along with a preview, so that you can reapply them to other clips later. DaVinci Resolve's color panels have keys that allow you to store, preview, and reapply captures. In addition, the DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel includes a transition lever to toggle between captures for easy comparison.

High-resolution displays

The displays on DaVinci Resolve Advanced and Mini Panel models provide precise control over different tools in the Color module. In the Mini version, when a program panel is selected in the keys, the screens display the corresponding settings. Use the arrows to explore modes or groups of options within the panel. The keys above the screens allow you to isolate channels, select preset settings, or choose other tools specific to the panel type. The rotary knobs underneath can be used to change the values of each parameter. It's even possible to generate default Power Window shapes and track them without even touching your mouse. All changes made to the screens are automatically reflected in the Color module.

Illuminated keys and rotary knobs

Color grading tends to be carried out in low light conditions to ensure a more accurate representation of colors on the monitor used. The keys and rotary knobs on the physical panels light up when you select them, so it's easy to distinguish which ones are active. On the Advanced and Mini Panel models, the keys are also backlit, making them easy to find and press when needed. In the Advanced version, it is possible to customize the color of the backlight. With 30 customizable knobs on the DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel and 8 on the Mini Panel, you get flexible, full-resolution parameter settings that can be reset at the push of a button.

Navigation and playback controls

The area to the right of the spheres features keys that allow you to scroll through clips or frames in the timeline, or even jump from one node to another in the node editor. In addition, these keys save a lot of time by not having to take your hands off the panel and use your mouse to perform frequent tasks, such as switching nodes. On the other hand, the playback keys provide absolute control over the project timeline. The DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel even has a rotary knob to move through your footage faster and more accurately. Other keys on the panels offer the ability to constantly play back and disable color adjustments temporarily, making it easier to review clips and make color corrections.

Retractable keyboard

The DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel provides quick access to each tool in the Color module, minimizing mouse or keyboard usage. However, an essential component of the dynamics of any post-production is the organization and assignment of labels. The retractable keyboard in this version allows you to enter metadata, identify imported files, assign names to nodes, or add notes to bookmarks or markers. On the other hand, it is possible to achieve further optimization by assigning custom key combinations or using one of the default settings in the program's preferences. Once you're done using it, the keyboard retracts into the control panel, decluttering the work area so you can refocus on color grading tools.

Flexibility of options

The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel can be powered via a USB connection, so simply plug it into a laptop and you can start working from your home, studio, or set. This makes it the ideal device for a mobile system during any shoot. On the other hand, the DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel version includes a built-in power supply, which avoids the need for external transformers. It also has an Ethernet port and provides support for PoE technology. This means that it is enough to use this type of connection to power it, without the need to plug it into a power grid. The DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel features an automatic global power supply, making it possible to use anywhere in the world.
