The"FUJINON XF16-55 mm F2.8 R LM WR"is a reference "standard XF zoom lens" with a focal length equivalent to 24 mm – 84 mm (in the equivalent of the 35 mm format), and a constant aperture of F2.8 throughout the range. The advanced optical design controls various forms of aberration for edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire zoom range. Employing the newly developed Coating Technology Nano-GI* (Gradient Index) effectively inhibits ghosting and flare, producing clear images. It is a comfortable standard zoom lens that covers a wide variety of shooting scenes, from the wide angle equivalent to 24 mm suitable for landscape photography, to the medium telephoto lens equivalent to 84 mm, ideal for portraits.

The XF16-55mm lens is powered by a linear motor, which achieves comfortable shooting with fast and quiet autofocus. With a lens construction of 23 glass elements in 16 groups, featuring five lens ED elements and one lens super ED element with low dispersion characteristics comparable to those of fluorite lenses, chromatic aberrations have been greatly reduced. In addition, the use of the new Nano-GI (gradient index) coating technology ensures that this high-performance optic delivers appropriate results as a flagship XF telephoto zoom lens.

The drum length of the lens remains constant throughout the zoom range, and features a dust- and weather-resistant finish that can also work in low temperatures down to -10°C. Thanks to the high-performance gyroscopic sensor, a unique image stabilization algorithm and the bright F2.8 aperture, holding the device by hand is possible in a wider variety of conditions.
