Modular and Open Platform
The XF camera system is modular and gives you the freedom to choose the high-resolution lenses, viewfinder and digital back combination that best suits your shooting style. Your choice is supported by continuous feature development, ensuring that your investment will continue to meet market demands in the future.

Customization control
For a fully customized workflow, assign actions to buttons and dials on the camera so that your most commonly used tools are at your fingertips, and save your settings for a custom preset.
You also have the option to save up to 3 custom presets, and you can switch between them to meet specific capture requirements, or upload them to any XF camera system effortlessly.

Honeybee Autofocus (HAP)
The Honeybee Autofocus Platform (HAP) is Phase One's fully controlled autofocus system. Like the rest of the XF camera system, the HAP architecture allows for user-accessible upgrades, as well as hardware upgrades, which will expand and enhance the autofocus system to meet market demands for years to come.

Autofocus and Recomposition (AFr)
3D sensors within the XF camera system enable AFr mode, allowing you to focus on a subject and then recompose the frame while retaining the desired focus point.

Focus cropping tool
An effortless automation tool to trim your lenses. Built-in analysis of calibration conditions ensures that everything is done with confidence and a custom focus calibration target is provided.
Hyperfocal point calibration and tool
Calibrate and save the hyperfocal point for each of your lenses Phase One. Use the hyperfocal point tool to quickly return the lens attached to your saved hyperfocal point.

Focus step in Capture One
Adjust focus directly in Capture One with real-time results in LiveView, for a simple, streamlined tethered capture workflow.

Flash Management
Full control of your Profoto Air flash system directly with your XF camera system: control, shoot and access up to 6 groups of lights Profoto. Use AirTTL' Profoto flash measurement to achieve consistent results.

Review flash duration, output power, and flash synchronization time with a simple visual representation directly after capture.

Vibration management
Vibration delay uses the internal seismograph tool to wait until conditions are calm before starting capture, while vibration analysis allows you to see the vibration experienced during capture.

Automated creative tools
Time Lapse
The Time-Lapse tool helps automate the process of capturing a time span, from calculation to capture, ensuring a smooth and streamlined workflow.
HDR
The HDR tool captures the specified frames in parentheses to improve dynamic range. Individual captures are stored as a sequence for simple post-processing in Capture One.

Focus stack calculator and tool
By evaluating focusing distances, sensor resolution, and aperture, the Focus Stacking Calculator automatically suggests the number of frames to be captured, while the Focus Stacking Tool automates capture.

Exposure Calculator
The Exposure Calculator tool allows you to extrapolate shutter speeds for long exposures from shorter equivalent exposure values. This is a useful aid in shortening test exposures, for example, when calculating exposure adjustments with long exposures at night or when using neutral density (ND) filters.

Analysis tools
Histogram
The histogram displays brightness data per channel and allows the user to determine a level at which reflections begin to be cropped.
Clip exposure and warning
The Exposure Warning tool highlights areas of a captured image that are overexposed. The crop warning adds a pink overlay based on the raw data, for the most accurate display of the level at which highlights will be cropped.

Focus mask
The focus mask highlights areas that are in sharp focus.

Alignment
The alignment tool provides a fast and accurate visual aid by ensuring that the camera is level in the horizontal and vertical planes, and is particularly useful when the camera is mounted on a tripod.

IQ3 digital backrests offer incredible versatility for demanding professional applications. Aimed at the professional photographer in all aspects, when used with the XF camera system, the IQ3 offers advanced solutions for flash handling, power management, rapid testing and innovative shutter technology and tools to eliminate vibration. Phase One 's open platform philosophy means it can be used interchangeably on a variety of technical cameras, including Cambo, ALPA, and Arca for exceptional image quality, flexibility, and artistic freedom. With two 100MP CMOS sensor options to choose from, the IQ3 provides the essential tools for professional photographers, on the platform that has been at the forefront of the digital media format since 2015.
Bigger sensors, more light

The full-frame medium-format sensors found in the current range of IQ digital backrests are 2.5 times larger than full-frame DSLR cameras, and 1.5 times larger than the mirrorless media format of the cropped sensor.

Using a larger sensor means more light, and therefore more information, is available by converting the captured light into a digital file. The availability of more data allows us to respect the quality of that data, which translates into a more efficient use of information with less interpolation.

Open platform philosophy

The IQ3 offers a solution that is modular and future-proof. The IQ3 gets great functionality and workflow benefits when used as part of an XF camera system, but it can also be used with a variety of other cameras for creative flexibility and project-specific needs.

Full-frame medium format sensors

The full-frame medium format sensor found in the XF IQ3 100MP camera system, 1.5 times the size of the half mirrorless format of the crop sensor, allows you to capture more data, provide more details and impressive results so that you can achieve your creative vision directly from the Camera. With the expanded output flexibility provided by the high resolution and up to 15 stops of dynamic range, your workflow options grow exponentially.

XF Integration

The flexible modularity of the XF camera system, and its transparent, feature-rich, customizable workflow, help professionals realize their most demanding creative visions. The XF camera system enables a wide selection of high-resolution Schneider Kreuznach lenses and purpose-built IQ digital backups, and custom capture settings, for efficient, high-quality RAW output.

Electronic shutter (ES)

The electronic shutter (ES) allows you to capture images without a single moving component. For the first time in medium format, when introduced with Feature Update #3, roller shutter technology provides full capture control from the digital backrest, extending control and applications.
