With an updated operating system, HDR monitoring and RAW recording capabilities, the Ninja Ulta 4K HDMI 5.2" Atomos recording monitor is a 5.2" in-camera monitor and recorder ideal for use in your next set. This monitor supports DCI 4K HDMI streams and can even record ProRes RAW up to 8K with compatible cameras. The Ninja Ultra retains the same form factor as its predecessors to be compatible with most monitor accessories Atomos for easy integration with your pre-existing equipment.

atomos 11 operating system

Created for the new Ninja Ultra, the atomos 11 operating system equips its monitor with new features along with an improved icon interface for more intuitive operation. Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, colored exposure EL Zone, Safe Areas, RecordAssit, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro and Cine Guides are among the many monitor assistance features available. The AtomHDR processing engine enables real-time Log to PQ/HLG preview.

5.2" touchscreen

The Ninja Ultra's 5.2" IPS touchscreen offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a brightness of 1000 cd/m² for daylight viewing. 10-bit color processing, Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support ensure high-quality, color-accurate monitoring of your footage.

Color Integral

Ninja Ultra supports the use of selected record formats from SONY, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, NIKON, PANASONIC , and CANON. Load custom 3D LUTs onto the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ or Dolby Vision formats.

HDMI interface, ProRes RAW recording

Ninja Ultra's HDMI input and output ports support up to 4K DCI video at 60fps in monitoring, recording, and playback modes. 3.5K RAW footage at 60fps is supported by select cameras.

Over 55 different cameras support RAW recording via HDMI with Ninja Ultra up to 8K at 30fps.

Optional Atomos CONNECT module

The Ninja Ultra supports the separately available Atomos CONNECT module for accessing cloud workflows such as C2C, Atomos Edit, and Atomos RemoteView via Atomos Cloud Studio. The CONNECT module adds 12G-SDI connectivity, AirGlu wireless timecode and control, Wi-Fi 6 and GigE Ethernet to your monitor interface. This allows you to send video signals to live streaming platforms, via NDI, and to custom RTMP/S destinations. Unlocked features that are specific to Ultra include SDICine, enhanced metadata support, RAW recording via SDI, dual 4K60 ProRes RAW and 1080p60 H.265 recording codecs, and 4K C2C mode for higher quality uploads. You can also convert HDMI video to SDI and SDI to HDMI using the CONNECT module.

AtomX Cast

Use AtomX CAST to transform your Ninja Ultra into a compact, full-featured production studio. This component enables advanced multi-input switching from four 1080p HDMI sources, the application of graphics overlays, and the ability to use a USB UVC webcam output for enhanced web conferencing and live streaming.

SSD Recording

The Ninja Ultra is compatible with Atomos Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III 2.5" hard drives that support direct recording to the drives. You can also record to compact AtomX SSDmini drives and CFAST II cards using a separately available adapter.

Power Options

An L-series battery plate on the back of the Ninja Ultra can support L-series NP-F batteries with an output of 5.8 to 7.2V. A USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery with the included cable. Use the included dummy eliminator to power the monitor through DC power supplies.

Control options

The multifunction control buttons work in conjunction with the touchscreen interface for intuitive integrated control.

HDMI camera self-timer is compatible with CANON and SONY cameras using Open Standard Atomos .

Unlock the Bluetooth and RF controlled remote control with the optional CONNECT module.

LANC control and calibration can be accessed via a separately available USB-C to serial connection cable
