The NIKON 35mm f1.4 G n lens is a fast lens with a classic focal length wide angle. Its f/1.4 Maximum aperture allows for effective low-light shooting, even handheld. It is also capable of reaching a very narrow depth of field when shooting af/1.4, creating a drastic separation between the subject and the background.

The lens features a silent wave motor (SWM) for fast, quiet and accurate autofocus. Its rear focus (RF) system ensures that the front element does not rotate during focusing, making it possible to use a circular polarization filter with the lens. Two focus modes are available - M/A and M.M/A is the autofocus mode still allows manual correction of the precision-adjusted focus and M is the full-time manual focus mode. The optical design of the lens features 10 elements in 7 groups, with a single aspherical element that reduces coma and other types of aberrations – even when shooting wide open. In addition, it features NIKON's exclusive Nano-Crystal Shield, which minimizes flare – even in backlit situations. A nine circular leaf opening provides a nice background out of focus.

This is a "G" series lens, which means there is no physical aperture ring - the aperture must be controlled by the camera. It can be used in FX NIKON and DX format DSLRs.When used in a DX camera, the lens provides the equivalent field of view of a 52.5mm lens in the 35mm format.
