Your warranty

This warranty applies to your product SONY if it is stated in the accompanying documentation that it was purchased within the warranty coverage area.

By means of this commercial warranty, SONY guarantees the product against possible defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 (TWO) YEARS from the original date of purchase (for products sold from January 2013). This warranty does not affect the legal rights of the consumer and user, which are independent and compatible with the commercial guarantee. The company SONY that will provide and attend the guarantee in the country where you request the warranty service is indicated below or in the document attached to the product.

If during this warranty period the product (on the original date of purchase) has defects in materials or workmanship, SONY and RSA members within the warranty coverage area will repair or replace (at SONY's discretion) the defective product or its defective parts, under the conditions specified below and without any charge for labor or parts.

SONY and RSA members will be able to replace defective components or products with new or recycled ones. All products or components of the replaced products are the property of SONY.

Conditions

1. This warranty will be valid only when presented with the original invoice or proof of purchase (indicating the date of purchase, model and the name of the distributor) together with the defective product during the period covered by the warranty. SONY and RSA members reserve the right not to offer free warranty service if the indicated documents are not presented or if the information contained therein is incomplete or illegible. This warranty shall not apply if the model name or serial number of the product has been altered, deleted, disappeared or is illegible.
   
   
2. To avoid losing or deleting information from removable data storage media or accessories, you must remove them before using the product warranty service.
   
   
3. This warranty does not cover transportation costs or risks arising from the transport of your product to and from SONY or to and from RSA members.
   
   
4. This warranty does not cover any of the following:
   
   1. Periodic maintenance and repair or replacement of parts derived from normal wear and tear.
   2. Consumable material (components that are expected to need periodic spare parts over the life of the product, such as non-refillable batteries, print cartridges, styluses, light bulbs, etc.).
   3. Damage or defects arising from improper use, operation or treatment of the product and not due to normal use of the product.
   4. Damages arising from:
      
      1. Misuse, including:
         - Treatment that results in damage or physical, superficial or appearance changes of the product or damage to the liquid crystal displays.
         - Installation or use of the product in a way that does not respect the instructions for installation or use of SONY.
         - Maintenance of the product in a way that does not respect the instructions of SONY for its proper maintenance.
         - Installation or use of the product in a way that does not respect the technical or safety standards of the country where it is used or installed.
         
         
      2. Viruses or use of the product with software not provided with the product or incorrect installation of the software.
         
         
      3. States or defects of the system in which the product is used or incorporated with the exception of other products SONY designed for use with the product.
         
         
      4. Use of the product with accessories, peripheral units and other products of a type, condition or standards not established by SONY.
         
         
      5. Repairs made or attempted repairs by third parties not belonging to SONY or members of the RSA.
         
         
      6. Adjustments or adaptations without the prior consent of SONY, including:
         - Product updates not covered by the specifications or characteristics described in the instruction manual, or
         - Modifications of the product to adapt it to the technical or safety standards of countries for which the product was not specifically designed or manufactured.
         
         
      7. Negligence.
         
         
      8. Accidents, fires, liquids, chemicals, other substances, floods, vibrations, excessive heat, inadequate ventilation, electrical overloads, excessive or incorrect voltage voltage or supply, radiation, electrostatic discharges including lightning, other external forces and impacts.
         
         
5. This warranty covers only the hardware components of the product. It does not cover software ( SONY or otherwise) provided or enforced by end user license agreements, or separate warranty conditions or exclusions.

Exceptions and limitations

Except as set forth above, SONY makes no warranties (express, implied, statutory, or otherwise) with respect to the product, the quality of the software or its attachments, performance, accuracy, reliability, or adaptability to a purpose of the hardware or otherwise. If this exception is not lawful or contemplated by applicable law, SONY will limit or exclude its warranties only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Any warranty that cannot be completely excluded shall be limited (to the extent permitted by applicable law) to the duration of the warranty.

The only obligation on the part of SONY in connection with this warranty is to repair or replace the products subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty. SONY is not responsible for loss of or damage to products, services, this warranty or others, including economic loss or non-evaluable damages; the price paid for the product; loss of profits, revenue, information, usufruct or use of the product or associated products or indirect, accidental or critical loss or damage. This clause refers to whether the loss or damage is due to:

1. Deterioration or inoperability of the product or associated products due to defects or unavailability of SONY or a member of the RSA, which has caused downtime, loss of user time or business interruption.
2. Poor performance of the associated product or products.
3. Failure or loss of software programs, removable data storage media, or
4. Viruses and other causes.

This fact refers to loss or damage subject to any legal theory, including negligence or other fraudulent procedures, breach of contract, express or implied warranties and strict obligations (even when SONY or a member of the RSA has already been advised of the possibility of such damages).

In cases where the law prohibits or limits these exclusions of liability, SONY will exclude or limit its liability only to the extent permitted by applicable law. For example, there are countries that prohibit the exclusion or limitation of damages caused by negligence, reckless negligence, deliberate misconduct, fraud and similar acts. The liability of SONY in this warranty shall in no event exceed the price paid for the product, but if applicable law permits only greater limitations of liability, these shall apply.

Your rights reserved

Consumers have legal rights (statutory) under the national laws in force in relation to the sale of consumer products. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights, nor the non-excludable or limitable rights, nor the rights of the person from whom you purchased the product. You can assert any of your rights as you see fit.
