Atem Mini Blackmagic Mixer

Designed for live streaming from multiple cameras to the internet or streaming applications, Blackmagic Design's compact ATEM Mini provides game consoles, corporate computer streams or HD cameras, a four-input live production switch with an integrated control panel. Four HDMI inputs are available on the back of the chassis and give video input up to 1080p60. There's also an HDMI output for an external projector or monitor, a USB Type-C output for streaming video up to 1080p60 to a computer, and an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port for system management, remote control, and upgrades.

The control surface features easy-to-view backlit control buttons to allow you to select camera inputs, control transitions, keyers, settings, and the DVE. The ATEM Mini features upstream and downstream keyers, an advanced chroma keyers, two linear/luma keyers, a DVE transition keyers, a pattern generator, and two color generators. There is also media player support for fill and key images, which supports up to 20 still images in PNG, TGA, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF formats. The HDMI output supports a minimum resolution of 1366 x 768 to monitor your transmission. It also supports the ATEM software control panel over Ethernet, and supports control and configuration via ATEM Mini.

• Transitions

Available transitions include:

1. Cut: When you press the cut button, ATEM instantly switches from its current program source to the preview source. Cuts can be made by selecting fonts directly or by pressing the cut button to switch to the next font.
2. Mixing: The mixture, or dissolution, gradually passes from one source to the next creating a smooth mixture. You can set custom times to manually merge the transition.
3. Immersion: Like mixing transitions, an immersion transition is a gradual combination that includes a solid color, graphic, or other clip between the two video sources. Black or white dives between fonts are the most popular, or you can use sponsor logos or graphics.
4. Clean: Built-in cleaning patterns include circles, diamonds, squares, and more. Shapes and patterns can be reversed or smoothed, and can even have custom colored borders.
5. DVE: With the powerful built-in digital video effects processor, or DVE, you can push, rotate, squeeze, or move your live video from one camera to the next with amazing built-in transitions. DVE transitions can be changed and reversed, giving you even more transition options.

• Upstream Keyer

1. Live video layer over other video sources or graphics with Upstream Keyer. You can use the luma key, linear key, pattern key or shoot against a green screen and use chroma key to instantly compose the video in virtual scenarios.
2. Luminance Key: Luminance keys work best with high-contrast images, such as white elements on a black background, so you can use contrast to cut the black background and replace it with video or live graphics.
3. Linear Key: Get clean, high-quality results with the linear key using two separate fonts for the fill and the key for creating a video image. The fill signal contains the video to be stacked against the background, while the key signal contains a grayscale mask to trim, or mask, the area to be filled.
4. Chroma key: Used every day for TV weather forecasts, chroma key is a powerful way to combine live images in real time. The presenter usually stands in front of a green or blue background and the chroma inlayer will remove only that color and match it with another image, such as a video or graphic.
5. Pattern key: Combine live images with any of the built-in sweep patterns to combine live images or graphics with geometric shapes. You get full control over smoothness, symmetry, size, and position to create unique picture-in-picture effects that can be transitioned to as easily as any live source.

• Downstream keyers

The ATEM Mini switch includes a downhand handler, so you can add high-quality graphics like logos, errors, and titles from the built-in media player over the output of the live streaming program. Downstream keyers are the last layers of encoding, so they overlay all the switched video on the output of the main program.

• Audio Mixer

The built-in audio mixer allows you to control both the camera and external audio with accuracy levels and balance settings on the six available audio inputs and two channels. The mixer features selectable on/off/Audio-Follow-Video per channel, plus it has channel-separate gain control, level and peak measurement, and new Fairlight audio enhancements like compressor, gate, limiter, six parametric equalizer bands, and master gain control.

• Monitor output

The HDMI monitor output allows you to view your sources, graphics, preview, and program output on a single screen.

• Media player

Remove external character generators by storing up to 20 broadcast-quality RGBA graphics files in the media group. The only media player appears as input sources for your switch. You can transition to graphics like full-frame video or send them to keyers to overlay videos. Popular image formats such as PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF are supported.
