L-series construction
The EF 200mm f/2L IS USM telephoto lens incorporates the highest standard of precision optics from CANON. Wide f/2.0 aperture
A maximum aperture of f/2.0 enables extraordinarily fast speed for low-light photography, without the need for flash. The wide aperture also provides precise depth-of-field control for high-impact portraits.

5-Point Image Stabilizer
The 5-Point Image Stabilizer compensation technology of CANON allows the use of shutter speeds up to 5 times slower, with no perceptible increase in motion blur. Automatic detection of camera panning motion disables the Shake Reduction in both the horizontal and vertical directions when following moving subjects. Tripod detection automatically enhances the functionality of the Shake Reduction when shooting with a tripod.

Super Spectra Coating
Super Spectra coatings help achieve accurate color balance and high contrast, while suppressing flare and ghosting by absorbing light that might be reflected by the internal lens elements and sensors of EOS digital cameras.

Fluorite and UD elements
To provide optimum visual results, the lens incorporates fluorite and UD (ultra-low dispersion) elements to minimize chromatic aberrations. The result is sharp, high-contrast images of exceptional quality throughout the image.

Ring USM motor autofocus with manual adjustment
CANON 's ring USM motor autofocus system employs ultrasonic frequency vibrations for fast, accurate and virtually inaudible operation with excellent position control. Manual focus adjustment at all times, using a large ring that does not rotate during autofocus, allows photographers to fine-tune focus instantly. It also includes focus preset, already available on the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM, which allows you to select and memorize a specific focus position for reuse when needed.
