The EOS 7D Mark II uses two "DIGIC 6" processors that provide responsive performance. By having minimal shooting delay, you can capture fleeting moments with great accuracy.

65-point wide area autofocus

To maintain precise focus while shooting, the EOS 7D Mark II features 65 focus points to follow fast-moving subjects. All focus points are "cross type"*, which means they can be fixed in both vertical and horizontal details quickly and accurately. To help you shoot in low-light conditions, the 7D Mark II can focus even in light-under-moon conditions where light levels can reach as low as -3EV.

AF point selection

Use the 65 AF points together or group them into moving zones that cover non-centered motifs. Alternatively, select a single AF point to precisely focus on a specific part of the scene.

Advanced iTR approach

The EOS 7D Mark II's iTR AF focusing system uses information from faces and colours to recognise and follow motifs as they move through the frame. AF responsiveness can be customized with a simple tool that adjusts focus tracking based on shooting environment and subject. Thus, other motives that momentarily pass in front of the motive do not interfere with the approach.

150,000 pixel measuring sensor with infrared detection

For consistent and accurate exposure measurement, the EOS 7D Mark II uses a 150,000-pixel sensor to divide the scene into 252 areas. Each of them is analyzed and the correct exposure settings are automatically set or recommended to the photographer. In addition to visible spectrum light, infrared light is also measured for greater accuracy in low-light conditions.

Outstanding performance in low light conditions

When the lighting level drops, keep shooting without giving up your creativity. The EOS 7D Mark II delivers excellent image quality with sensitivities up to 16,000 ISO (expandable up to the equivalent of 51,200 ISO), making it ideal for discreet urban photography, freezing action in harsh conditions and even taking macro photos without a tripod.
