The SONY 10-18mm f4 OSS SONY Lens is an ultra-wide angle E-mount zoom lens compatible with Alpha NEX NEX and Handycam cameras. In the 35mm format, focal lengths are equivalent to a 15-27mm view field that is extremely wide-angle with ideal perspectives-exaggerated for extensive landscapes, some creative interiors and portraits and group photos.
With an aperture of f/4.0 across the zoom range, fast shutter speeds and low ISO settings can be used even in low light for sharp, bright images. With the optical SteadyShot image stabilization system it is even easier to shoot sharp photos and videos in low light conditions, regardless of camera movement. Three aspherical lens elements reduce spherical aberration and distortion and Super extra low glass dispersion reduces chromatic aberration for high-quality images even at maximum aperture. Fast autofocus is facilitated by the movement of the lens elements on the back of the lens and the circular aperture 7 of the blade creates smooth bokeh, circular in the out-of-focus areas within the frame.
- 10-18mm f/4 Super Wide Angle Zoom Lens
- This lens offers a constant maximum aperture of f/4 across the entire focal length range, allowing the use of the widest aperture at each focal length. Even in low-light environments, such as outdoors at sunset, users will be able to take advantage of the bright aperture and use faster shutter speeds without unnecessarily increasing ISO sensitivity. The 10-18mm (15-27mm in 35mm format) offers ultra-wide-angle zoom for shooting landscapes, in tight spaces or with creative exaggerated perspectives.
- Image Stabilization
- Built in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization system provides a 4-stop (approximate) shutter speed advantage, making it much easier to achieve crisp, lacking definition of free images and video.
- Internal focusing system
- Lens elements on the back of the moving optical system, allowing for fast autofocus response.
- Optics
- Three aspherical lens elements correct for spherical aberration and distortion, so it is possible to capture high-contrast, high-quality images with much less bleeding, even at maximum aperture. In addition, the optical system employs Super Extra-low glass dispersion, making highly detailed images with reduced color aberration, even at the focal length of 10 mm.
- Circular aperture
