This feature measures the room you're working in, along with the set focus distance, to automatically tilt and rotate the flash head to produce uniform, fuzzy, and clean bounce flash results. This function can be used in fully automatic mode, where the flash automatically determines all settings, or in semi-automatic mode, where it can set the angle of the flash and it will rotate automatically depending on the position or orientation of the camera in use. .
Beyond its various automated capabilities, the 470EX-AI is also distinguished by its apt flash specifications, including E-TTL/E-TTL II compatibility, a guide number of 154' at ISO 100 and 105mm, a zoom head with 24-105mm coverage, and a removable diffuser to extend this coverage to 14mm.
